Excellent video - - except for a couple of things 1) what she refers to as "familial COPD" is referred to almost everywhere else as Alpha-1 Antitripsin deficiency, although there does appear to be some other cases where there is a strong genetic connection. 2) While smoke is THE primary cause of COPD - in North America, Europe and many other countries this is from smoking tobacco - BUT in some countries the primary cause is inhaling wood smoke from cooking over fires in poorly ventillated 'buildings', and there a number of other forms of air pollution that can also damage lungs resulting in COPD.

Very very good video John. Easy to follow (a picture says a thousand words) and easy to understand..... "Simplespeak" I hope folks will take a few minutes to watch it.

Hi Chris . I was thinking it gave a pretty good description that a layperson could understand as to what happens to the lungs & how to make life a little more comfortable after being dxed with copd .I liked that it explained what each class of meds do to relieve symptoms of copd .I know you can appreciate their need to stress the need to stop smoking to slow down the progression . I agree wholeheartedly your point is valid for those who live in parts of the world where air pollution ,smoke from cooking fires & industry play an important role in the development of this and other lung diseases .Thank You for adding that important information
