I seem to recall a few years back that there was a class action suit for Gov't employees who had worked in offices with asbestos exposure. Does anyone remember anything about this?

Sorry Cynde; I'm not aware of it at all but I'm sure that if you googled the net you "might" find some info or a lawyer or two that might be involved. Gotta remember; we're living in a country that still makes and exports the darn stuff (I'm embarrased to say)

Hi. It seems unlikely that there is a lawsuit as this would be covered by workers' compensation (or the federal equivalent). Perhaps if you checked with the union, PSAC or PIPS, they might have some answers for you? Or you can just Google it, like Jackie said.
(My husband worked for a number of years in an open pit asbestos mine. It drives me crazy that he doesn't get a yearly checkup on his lungs, as our local WCB recommends.)

Cynde ; I do know that here in the states My Uncle has asbestos & gets checks from that fund periodically over the last 10 years. Some are I would say quite large & tax free because they are a medical settlement .I believe that most of the $'s come out of the Johnmansfield Co. from a class action suit . I personally have been tested for it about 4 years ago & my test were negative . so I don't qualify . I'll see if I can get the # to call from my uncle .I seem to have misplaced the one I had .
