WELCOME HOME! Well the upgrade is finished! And; we look forward to seeing e'one get logged in! As you've noticed, the title of the site is now "COPD in Canada & The World" John and I had talked about this and he's in full agreement. The fact of the matter is this site has members from many places; not just Canada and this disease knows no boundaries so.... it's only befitting don't you think? As for the flag.... it'll be there. We hope. Right now when we put it in it shows multiple times and becomes part of the title. Not just one flag flying. We're working on it. For now we all have to move the furniture in and re-arrange as well as pick up some new pieces as we go along. There's some extras that the contractor threw in and some they discarded so.... we'll add what we can (extra coding etc) as we go along. Some of it this new forum version will take, some of it won't. We realize it's going to take a little bit for ALL of us to adapt but; adapt we will. We're use to it by now aren't we? Don't be afraid to experiment (remember we do have the practise area) and we've started an area under Intro's and Welcomes titled "This Newly Renovated Forum" Feel free to ask Q's or contribute with answers; anything and e'thing that you find "how to do" or "discover" that will help your fellow members will be helpful so don't be bashful! All we ask is your patience. We can't find and do and import etc etc all at once. Although we (Admins and Mods) did get a chance to do a test drive, it's not quite the same in the final analysis; especially from an admistrative "view and perspective" believe me. So; pour a coffee from Peter's never empty pot, find your comfy chair, take your time checking out your newly renovated digs and jump in whenever you're ready! We'll be waiting for you! Jackie, John, Bobbi, Sandy, Sue, Deborah

I think we just might have some fun here figuring things out, don't you? Thanks for helping us get through the changes. You were right to say it's a new ball game between testing it out before the change and now facing it in reality. Things I didn't think about are creeping in, . A big thanks for all the time Jackie and John are going to be putting in to coding. I know that takes a LOT of time and appreciate the sacrifice of your's for us. Also, love the new name. I noticed it a while back and appreciate it. Sounds really good to the ear, too.

Hi Jackie, about the flag. When you are in the Forum Banner area, go to Banner Image, you will find a place that says "repeat" make sure you set this at No repeat.
Also in the banner text area you can change the font size, colour and where you want it to be placed in the banner.
I'm still learning about the new admin, but I'll try to help anytime I can.

Great news Jackie. You had me stretching my brain, because I had the same problem and what I told you fixed it.
Good work John.

Yep, I understand, I had he same problem trying to load my avatar, I loaded pictures OK from my computer, but the quality was so bad that I deleted them and loaded them from Photobucket.
Guess this is something that Proboards will fix in the future.

I don't see this feature any longer "View the 75 most recent posts of this forum." (except COPD Canada had 50 instead of the 75. I always just read this forum buy clicking on the link for the most recent posts. Made reading simple...at least for me

Where's the date and the time on the Home page? I count on that to know what the date is, .

Is there going to be a 'to the top' button like before?? Maybe there is one and I can't find it, am slowly getting myself oriented. I finally figured out to use the small line of stuff to 'go back' rather than having to go to the red 'home' every time. Also, the country, city, info isn't under our avitars anymore either, will that be put back in place later?? Or is that gone for privacy reasons?

Hi Linder.... we tried Chat several years ago and though we had participation, it wasn't enough to warrant the time commitment for the Moderators who had to be availiable. It simply wasn't being used enough. And; if you think about it.. nowadays; folks/friends can get together free simultaneoulsy via Skype w/o wrestling with the typing which can be a challenge for amny "non typists"

Chris, I am really sorry to hear you have been in the hospital for 23 days. That means you must have missed all the warnings about the transition. We had no choice in the matter and tried really hard to make it as easy as possible, while recognizing that change can be so frustrating. If you are having a specific problem or have a specific question, please check out the board on the newly renovated forum philns.proboards.com/board/48/newly-renovated-forum. There are some specific topics as well as a long list of Q&As which might help. You can also send a message to any moderator or the administrators and we will do our best to get you an answer. Again, sorry to hear you have been in the hospital. Hope you are well on the road to recovery? Deborah
