After getting through my first year with this thing, it looks like I'm going to be having to get an oximeter. I've read that ODSP will not cover the cost unless it is for someone under 18. Does anyone know of another agency that may help?
Thank you in advance.

Look for the small portable ones athletes use. This is battery operated and will tell O2% and pulse rate. I paid about a hundred dollars for mine. I too was on ODSP and never tho't to ask the doctor to prescribe one. Perhaps then ODSP will provide funds. They paid for an air conditioner for me.

There is a company on this, our website, that sells finger pulse oximeters. I think they are around $60-75. They work great. But apparently Americans can buy them at the big drugstores. Our main website is www.COPDCanada.ca . The oximeters are on the left side closer to the bottom...they are black.

I tried getting one on line but it stopped me. Apparently Canadians can't buy them.

Here in the UK we usually buy them on Amazon - they range from the cheaper £20 end of the market to the more expensive £100 plus, or even the hospital type ones over £1,000. Because I use mine outdoors a lot and I tend to lose things, I have a really cheap one - £18, and then a good one for keeping at home -£60. They both work equally well - cheaper ones are just as accurate usually, they just tend to be less robust. Even healthy folk often have them nowadays if they are into sports, so that they can easily monitor their pulse. Also in the current health climate of encouraging 'self management' in patients with long term conditions, I would imagine that a pulse ox would be invaluable.
