Does anyone else get a real hoarse throat from some of the meds. Sometimes I need to keep clearing my throat. I guess it's from the mucous as well.

Yes, I think its the inhalers that cause the hoarseness. Some days are worse than others.

I get hoarse a lot. Evidently it can be because of the puffers, thrush, or reflux. Nasty!

I'm on spiriva and symbicort for the last few years and the hoarseness seems to have got worse. Have a Drs. appt soon. Will ask her to make an appt with my respirologist. Haven't seen him for about 2 years. I am also on oxygen that I use all night and in day time if needed.

I'm pretty sure it is the steroid inhaler that does it, some days are worse than others when I can hardly speak loud enough to be heard. I was on Symbicort and now on Zenhale with same result. I clear my throat a lot but doesn't help. I do not cough at all. Is it normal not to cough?

I noticed that Symbicort also acts as a cough suppressant. But wouldn't coughing depend on how bad your bronchitis is?

I don't cough a lot either Purple. That's what seemed strange being diagnosed with chronic bronchitis and hardly ever cough unless I have a chest cold which I haven't had for 2 winters now....Keeping my fingers crossed I don't have one this year either.

Like Barb I don't cough either. I don't have Bronchitis. Just Emphysema and most of my medicine is through a Nebulizer.

I have a sore throat mostly in the morning, mine is due to symbicort creating thrush which infects my lungs at times. Also the oxygen in my mouth all night dries it out . I can't swallow until I have a drink of water when I wake.

The dry mouth is from breathing thru your mouth. I do it too at night...even tho my nose is not plugged up. There are chin straps available but by the looks of them I don't think I could sleep with it on. I guess you'd get used to it if you had to. It's like the masks used for apnea.
