The one myth I have the most trouble convincing people of is "If I quit smoking my COPD will totally disappear." People mistake stopping smoking and then being able quit using oxygen means that they are "cured".
I tell them your symptoms have been greatly reduced as in you can breathe easier but you still have COPD. It's progression has just been significantly cut down but not stopped altogether.

That's true Darcy, I also have trouble getting people to believe that COPD is a progressive disease with no cure.
