In Ontario they said I would have to get tested every 9 months for qualification to receive paid home oxygen therapy , what. Puzzles me is now It's only been 6 and a half months and my oxygen concentrator supplier wants to come and do the test. My god they originally said every 9 months I am puzzled. Wondering if some others from Ontario can shed some light on this matter? Thanks. Lorraine Happy Thanksgiving to everyone

I think Lorraine they come to see me every 6 months. Never been a problem and I've been on home oxygen for 3 years...I'm in Ontario as well.

Who is your oxygen supplier Lorraine. I'm with medi-gas and it's an RN that works for medi-gas that comes....Most of them want to keep you on oxygen so you should be okay. They also ask you a lot of questions about your breathing and what meds your on and then they report back to your Dr. I think.

Thank for the information. I live in Saskatoon and just stared using oxygen. I was told I would have to get retested in 6months. I am thinking about moving back to southern Ontario and wondering how the transfer would go. Jan

all I had the respiratory therapist here yesterday to reassess me...All they do in Ontario is put an oximeter on your finger and have you walk and see how long it takes your oxygen to recover. She said as long as oxygen is 88 I'm okay.
