Hi everyone, just to let you know, i have copd and high retention of CO2. I have talked to my respiratory theripist and she is sending me a new concentrator over tomorrow, that will set at .05, because the one i have won't go that low, and i was getting to much oxygen during the day, etc. Also got some blood work done yesterday, and was told my Co2 was 33 and normal was 30, so i guess i am not to bad, so i am hoping when i get the new concentrator, and keep it set at .05 for sitting during the day, and sleeping at night i will help decrease the CO2 from high to normal. Is that even possible? When i walk around i use my oxygen tank and put at 1 liter to move around the house. But out and about shopping i have to put it higher, grrrrrr. I hate this disease, but am doing my best to keep on going. I am waiting to see a specialist to see if he can help, such as stem cell therapy, transplant 1 lung, recoil, new drugs, etc. Let's hope he can help. Thanks for the ear everyone, and i hope you all are well.

I am not a c02 retainer but I do know someone who is and it gets confusing to me. Her oxygen intake is much different than mine. Seems like she said her 02 saturation person who does not retain c02 levels need to be lower than a person who does not retain c02.
