gosh looks like Toni and I are in a neck to neck race here....maaybe better said, lung to lung Appt at National Jewish Today, Weds Aug 26th I met with the pulmo doc in Denver to find out the big answer to the big question on LVRS…..Having started this Great Adventure over 6 and a half months ago I was anxious to find out…. As always, Char drove me down and I looked out at our beautiful Rocky mountains, which had an added beauty to them this morning……clouds were peeking their heads over the tops and snow could be seen but just a little longer the sun was shinning, showing off the gorgeous green fields that lie below the boulder fields, it was stunning. Really didn’t know what to expect, seems every other time I went in I ended up having more test. Well, the doc came in and we spoke all out niceties and then he said he was referring me to Dr. Mitchell at Colorado University hospital to meet with him for the final say……..Nat Jew pulmo saw nothing in my testing to stop me from having the surgery now that the cardiologist okayed my heart….He did say, however that Doc Mitchell might not like blank and blank et etc but he is the one doing the surgery so it will be his final decision…..I should hear from Mitchell in a few days or next week to meet with him and go over stuff….and it seems that if he agrees I am a good candidate, the surgery would be scheduled for shortly after……………. To say I’m happy doesn’t begin to express what I’m feeling….actually I almost feel drunk!!!! Just the thought of being able to breath easier puts chills up and down, I hadn’t hoped for relief until I had passed…..Now I might have the chance to not be so SOB……..world watch out!!!!

Oh, Wendy. I am so very happy for you. All these months of not knowing, wondering if it was all for nothing. This is terrific news. I hope you don't have to wait long for the surgery.
