I just heard that Toni got her call from Toronto Gen. Hospital on Monday night, the 19th of April.
I've not heard if the TX went ahead or how she's doing yet. If/when I find out, or if someone else knows...... please post.

How wonderful! I hope she does as well as Colleen is doing.
I'll be keeping her and the donor family in my prayers.

WOW! That was quick! Hope all went well! Thinking we should have heard something from her husband by now. He's probably just busy being with her after the surgery. Toni, you are in my prayers BIG TIME!!!!!

I have a terrible terrible confession to make....... and I hope that Toni and her family will forgive me.....I'm one of those people who just can't/won't lie BUT.... I was a desperate woman!
I called the hospital today..... they ultimately connected me with ICU after jumping through hoops. I informed them I was checking on her (after going through several more staff in ICU) .... I was her half sister.
I "think" they checked with the family, and I "think" they actually checked with Toni (from what I could hear in the background conversation)...... I believe I heard her say to tell me that she was doing fine.
Beat me with a wet noodle for being deceptive Toni (let alone what maybe your family was thinking with a "half sister") but...... you're important to us here.....
Keep at it Lady!

I received a note from Toni's friend Sue....
"Here is some latest info received from Toni's daughter .....
Mom is doing great, and has been moved to a Step Down room. They removed the breathing tube today, and she’s been able to walk and talk. She might be moved into a regular room soon Just so you all know, that because of the transplant, she won’t be able to receive any type of flowers or plants, because of the spores or mold that might be on them.
But when she does get moved, I’ll give you all her room number if you want to send cards. "

all, My name is Krystin and I am Toni's daughter. I will post the update to my mom's journey here as I have time. I will also be posting the same updates to her carepages.com blog at www.carepages.com/carepages/tonilynneMy family asks that you please not call the hospital for any updates. I have to be honest, my family and I were not pleased to hear that you called and said you were her half sister. We are all pleased that she is doing so well, but we have a lot on our plate right now so it can be tough to get the updates out to friends, especially online friends. Most of my family is at the hospital daily, and since I live in Virginia, I haven't been able to get up there as of yet, so the updates you get are second hand for the moment. Just please be patient, but know that she is ok and doing extremely well. Thank you, Krystin

I apologize Krystin and I thank you for checking in with us.
I know that this must be a particularly difficult situation for you right now since you've not been able to get to Toronto as of yet. Toni's "call" came much quicker than anticipated I think for everyone!
Toni's been a part of our family here for some time. Certainly not biological but; still family of a different sort. We celebrate the successes, we mourn the losses, we share in achievements, we share and relate in challenges and sorrows. And we encourage. We're family. Toni has come a long way. If you read back over posts, especially awhile back at the fence, you'll see just how far your Mom has come.
We're proud of her and We're rooting for her! Again, thank you so much for checking in. We look forward to, and welcome, your additional posts!
