Hi everyone....I haven't posted in a long time because most of what has happened with me isn't really because of the LVRS, well most isn't I had infection after infection and wasn't feeling really great, after removing my TTO, everything cleared up........ I have since developed a chest wall hernia, which we will ignore until/if it grows or causes pain....also an inflammed ligament where your rib cage connects to your sterum (between my boobs) now that the infections have ceased, went last week to National Jewish for testing to see how well I am functioning......saw the Doc yesterday and he says I am great! here's what I emailed to some friends...... I think this will probably be the last update I do for the group as I'm doing well....Char and I drove down to Denver this morning to National Jewish....Last week we went down and did testing again to see how I was doing post op, 6 months post op.... Dr. Make thinks everything looks GREAT and he is pleased with my numbers while doing the exercises last week. He doesn't see a need for my using 02 unless I feel I need it.... He thinks Most, if not all, of my infections have been related to my TTO and that the last one I had that was so bad (removed the TTO during that one), that's why I noticed, otherwise I had some bleeding before and passed it off as a sore or something to that effect. Doc doesn't think so, so I'm now anxious to see if I stay healthier..... As for not using 02, I will check with my local pulmo too and see about getting an overnight oximetry so see how I do while sleeping.....today during my walk with mom, I didn't turn on the 02 and my level dropped to 73 so turned on the 02....think maybe after I'm stronger and infection free this will change......... update to my above update ;D I went to SUPER Walmart this morning and walked all through the store, up and down and back to the other side and never dropped below 90! why can't I walk around my block and not drop? ?? hummmmm a puzzlement

Hey Wendy
Sounds like great news. Maybe you don't drop indoors because of a controlled environment. I notice that at some indoor places, my breathing does okay, others it gets worse. Good question for the pulmo.
Sorry you have had these other problems and hope they do clear. Hopefully you won't need the o2 after the overnite.
Thanks for the update and hope the future will hold more o2 free days of long walks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wendy...glad you're doing better. I'm using o2 at night. I get SOB sometimes going in or out of a store but not while I'm in it. Yes, don't know why. Like you, I can walk Walmart no problem. Going to the back yard is a problem tho. Like Aero said..controlled environment...airconditioning and nice flat floors. I blame a lot on allergies.
So glad your infections have cleared up. Now you can build up your body again.

Zoom; I'm so very pleased for you in many ways. It's unfortunate that you had to pull your TTO after 3 years BUT; on the bright side...... you may not be needing oxygen at all soon AND if that's what was contributing to all your infections...... So; no real loss .... ONLY GAIN!!!
Gotta tell ya though 73 is pretty darn low. I doubt I'd have been able to move at all. How long did you need to have it (the oygen) turned back on for? As for the WalMart I tend to agree with the others... a controlled environment. And; the floor's flat and maybe you were meandering? Either way.... take it and run! ;D A lot different for you than 6 months ago!
