I haven't heard much about the campaign on the website for people to write various members of the government but wanted to report about the replies I've received recently.
I got a letter back from Stephen Harper's office thanking me for writing and that my letter had been referred to the Minister of Health (good, he now has received 2 letters from me). Not much personalized except thanking me. I also received an email response from my MP's assistant explaining they would be sending me a letter by mail soon but were switching office locations. He then went on to express he thought it was very commendable that I was trying to raise awareness of this terrible disease. Maybe I'm a little cynical after some of our experiences, but I truly expected a more generic "form" letter but was pleasantly surprised.
Has anyone else received any responses from their letters?
Take care,
Mary

Hey Mary.....I never considered a member updating their accomplishments here re: governmental efforts...but good for you thinking about it... I won't go into long drawn out correspondence I've had back and forth with so many different medical & Govt bodies and and I'm know Bear has the same story ....BUT gotta tell ya gal.... You got a better letter from our Prime Minister than I got. Mine was generic from his aid I believe. GOOD FOR YOU! for writing!!!! and then letting us know! BTW folks; what Mary's referring to here is COPD Canada's website form letters....www.copdcanada.ca/form_letters.htm
