The lady I shared this off is a friend of close mutual friends...We had some classic battles last year over stem cells....She always used Willie Nelson as ''Proof'' that Stem Cells can ''cure'' COPD if one continued the treatment that costs $$$$$$$ from these Clinic in the US and Mexico...etc....Mostly promoted under the ''Lung Institute'' banner..... Willie Nelson has been struggling to breathe lately, and he has canceled yet another two shows, this time in Las Vegas. According to sources, the 83-year-old smoker has been ravaged by emphysema and pneumonia. His friends are extremely worried. “Willie’s been so frail and gaunt… a pale shadow of the man he used to be,” a friend says. “He’s never fully recovered from the last time when he was deathly ill, more than a year ago. It’s now come back to hit him like a ton of bricks. If he can’t get a deep breath in and his voice is a croak — there’s no way he can sing.” The country music legend’s reps apologized for his canceled shows on his Facebook page, sending regrets for axing performances “due to recent illness” and announcing the shows “will not be rescheduled.” godfitting.com/country-music-icon-struggling-breathe-please-send-prayers-way/......and what the Legit Lung Foundation has stated and random comments either way.... www.copdfoundation.org/COPD360social/Community/Questions-and-Answers/Are-you-considering-a-Stem-Cell-Therapy-Clinic-for-treatment-of-your-COPD.aspx

I can say one thing about old Willie is he has had a very good life. He has lived well into old age. Not many entertainers got to do that. I guess all good things have to come to an end.

Yes it is not canceled...He also has his own Cannabis Brand and openly promotes his love for recreational smoking and touring....He was a great artist, who felt that having the Stem Cell implants would off-set his loss of health and vocal ability, thru the years of hard living and his Emphysema that had reached the stage, that nothing would help him anyway..... Last weekend his daughter appeared at Port Fairy Gig, in my State of Victoria and claimed her Dad had little more than a cold and was due back out touring. She said he wasn't happy unless he was touring. His personal site that promotes his tours has many photos of Willie and the continued dates as still booked...I hope he does get to perform again but personally i very much doubt these future concerts will go ahead...Anyway he lived a lifestyle that produced some great classic music and reaching the age he has is a miracle in itself.. QUOTE::''The four-hour red carpet event at Exile Boutique, 1235 S. Main St., welcomed Nelson, 83, just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night. Donning a cowboy hat and a black shirt, his signature braided hair hanging down to his stomach, the country music legend smiled and took pictures with eager fans, as others trying to make their way through the packed clothing store-turned party venue lauded him with phrases like “I love you Willie.” Along the guitar-lined wall, framed pictures of Nelson hung near a rack of cowboy boots as famous songs like “On the Road Again” and “Always on My Mind” played in the background. Nelson was not made available to media for interviews at Tuesday’s event, nor was Andrew Davison of the Denver-based Willie’s Reserve company. But before leaving, Nelson smiled and lit one of his brand’s joints, inhaling deeply before passing it to an excited fan'' Attachment Deleted

Yes it was wonderful to see him get up and perform live...That was all he lives for.....The beef I had with the original item was the fact that ''The Lung Institute'' used Willie as their ''Poster Child'' as credibility to the success of Stem Cell Therapy, even though at that stage Willie made no public comment either way....They also avoided the smoking part, as this would be contrary to how COPD patients would react... Some good pics and concert highlights in his FB Page.. www.facebook.com/WillieNelson/The fact that Willie was the one that highlighted the Medical Marijuana Awareness in the US is also something that those of us that are keen to get legislation, not only the verbal assurance but the availability for all those that need it and cost affected as well....Here is an older report from 2015 but it gives you a good insight into the man.... www.gq.com/story/willie-nelson-reserve-marijuana

Who knows, maybe the marijuana has kept Willie going all these years. Maybe that is why he has never had any cancer that I know of.
Would have been interesting if Willie had never smoked a cigarette.

Willie Nelson and Family played to a sold out crowd at Rodeo Houston. We were told it was a crowd of 77,000 fans - largest they have had.

so sad about willie nelson. i went to a concert many years ago put on by him & waylon jennings- wow, it was awesome! As for his getting 'stem cell' i think it's horrid that he could be used as a promotional item for stem cell research, but i also pray that he may further research and get help he seeks. After i lost my father & sister to pancreatic cancer less than 6 months apart i remember Patrick Swayze gave me such hope that a person like him getting treatment for pancreatic cancer might move research ahead. In my mind the richer you are in this country the better access you have to the best options available. Sad, but that is how i feel. My prayers are with that wonderful man that has entertained so many. gosh, i thought he "looked so old" in the picture ozboy posted, then i looked it up & he is 83 years old! (84 in april)---gosh, for all that smoking methinks he isn't doing too bad! Bless him.

Despite Rumors, Willie Nelson’s Publicist Says He’s ‘Perfectly Fine’
Willie Nelson‘s publicist is setting the record straight about the country icon’s health. Despite circulating reports and rumors that the singer is “deathly ill,” Elaine Schock says Nelson is “perfectly fine.”
Schock’s comments follow a March 13 report from tabloid-style celebrity gossip site Radar Online claiming that Nelson is “at death’s door” and has been so affected by emphysema and pneumonia that he can’t even get enough breath to sing. On March 22, Nelson’s publicist spoke to the Associated Press, refuting the bogus claims and saying that Nelson’s is doing just fine.
In late January and early February, Nelson was forced to cancel a string of tour dates due to an undisclosed illness. But other than that handful of shows, the 83-year-old singer has kept up with the majority of his touring obligations, even adding a surprise show at SXSW 2017 and playing a March 18 set at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in front of a 75,000-person crowd. On April 6, the “Red Headed Stranger” will co-host and perform at a Merle Haggard tribute concert in Nashville.
These latest rumors aren’t the first time that Nelson has needed to speak out against bogus claims about his health; in fact, he’s been the subject of more than one internet death hoax! The singer takes those rumors to task in “Still Not Dead,” a new song on his upcoming album, God’s Problem Child.
“I got up two or three times in the last couple of years and read the paper where I’d passed away,” Nelson has said. “So I just wanted to let ’em know that’s a lot of horses–t.”
God’s Problem Child is set for release on April 28, one day before Nelson’s 84th birthday. All together, the record features 13 tracks, seven of which Nelson wrote.
