Gail, I hope your brother hears good news in Boston.
Wayne had his second round of chemo and still he had no side effects.
Makes me wonder if they are giving him chemo at all.
If they are then it's good he feels no bad effects from the treatment.

My brother goes for his 3rd treatment today. It's not so bad. He says the chemo doesn't make him feel to bad. After a few days he feels good again.
Last time he went to the doctor the doctor said all his numbers are looking good and his white blood cell count is good.
Doctor said he may not have to do all 6 treatments. That was a ball park figure. We will see. My brother says he feels fine and wouldn't even know he has cancer if the doctor didn't say so.
I hope he goes into remission.

Thanks for telling me that. I told my brother that your brother was going to Boston.
My brother has had his 3rd treatment so he is half way through. He is doing very well considering the circumstances.
He did a four mile hike, with his friends, after chemo Monday. Says the only problem he has is insomnia for a few days after the treatment.

I'm so very happy to know you're brother is doing ok with chemo. My brother is very sick, old what's going to happen. I feel so helpless. I'm so scared for him as I watch him whittle away..hes lost so much weight I badly recognise him anymore. I'm very worried. And he's been giving things away, starting with his Harley Davidson shirts! That's not a good sign. He's so quiet we have not really talked. I. Very worried for him. He's very depressed, he is being watched and taking meds but I'm just d**n worried!

My brother goes for his 4th treatment today. He has 2 more to go. He gets a treatment every 3 weeks.
He is doing amazingly well to have stage 4 prostrate cancer. It is in his hip bone and shoulder blades.
The doctor says what ever you are doing just keep doing it.
All his numbers are good every time he has his blood checked.

Wayne has one more treatment in 3 weeks then he will be scanned again.
I talked to him Saturday and he said he is tired for about a week and he has sores in his mouth but it all goes away. Then he is good for two weeks. He will be glad to do the last treatment. He is tired of the chemo.
I sure hope he goes into remission.
Sorry your brother want talk about his situation. I believe we can all learn something from someone Else's problem. There seems to be many ways to treat cancer now a days.
I was just reading about another treatment:
LentzLoc is suitable for a variety of common cancers.
www.int-imm-foundation.com/en/your-diagnosis/your-diagnosis-metastatic-cancer.htm
Due to its broad immunological profile the LentzLoc therapy can be applied to a wide range of cancer types and stages.

Thank you David, I was going to send this to my brother but it's only in the UK right now and their is no way he can go there. We're poor! I don't mean to Sound like that but, my brother is not old enough to keep collecting on his VA. But they are giving him a small amount at this point untill he can get onto disability, In which he has been turned down 3 times? He has a lawyer and everything. He was in the Army 4 years and Army reserve 8 years. He's worked all of his life, he is 59 soon in Aug. I just don't get it. Why would SSDI turn him down, he's bad. Don't know what stage, he said it to me in points he said 3.9 I'm wondering if that means he's one point away from stage 4? I don't think he wants to tell me bc I'm his younger sister and he was my best friend. As we got older we got away from each other a little more. So I tend to think he still thinks of me as a little girl. Thank you David, they did say it's in other country's but no mention of what country? Gail, you're friend.

Well, I wish your brother well.
Wayne keeps a good attitude about his cancer. I think it is important. His is stage 4 and he is ready to die if it his time to go. If it gets to the point nothing else can be done, that is affordable, he is prepared for Hospice to step in and take over.
So for he has had only chemo treatments. He was lucky to get on Obamacare when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He had no insurance at all. So he was lucky they could not turn him down for per-existing disease.

I have been waiting for this to be shown. It started July 11, today.
I just watched the first episode. There are 9 episodes in all. The first one was a real eye opener. I cant wait to see the next 8.
I had signed up and they send it to my email. I click on a link and can watch it for free.
It's called the truth about cancer. This guy went around the world to make this documentary. Each episode is about 2 hours long but it is well worth watching. First episode was the history of chemotherapy. I had no idea. We were not taught this growing.
If you want to sign up and watch it for free go to this website.

I talked to my brother today. He has one more treatment in one week. After that the doctor will check his PSA numbers and if they are low then he will be finished with everything. He will go back every 3 months and check his numbers. The doctor will not do anything until the numbers go back up to 10.
He will still do the hormonal treatments. He will not have another pet scan. Only blood work to see what the numbers are.
He is so happy to be able to stop the chemo.

Jim, I will ask him what one he is taking. He probably don't really know though.
I see there are about 4 types. He probably has the one where the cancer has spread too far to be cured so they are trying to slow it down and not come back so fast.

My brother had his last treatment yesterday, Monday. As long as his numbers are down he will be in remission.
That is all the doctor can do for him. Now he will have to seek other options to try and get it out of the bone. Doing lots of research at this point.
His immune system is weak at this point because Chemo kills everything, good and bad.
Hopefully something can be found before the cancer returns.
