I keep my stationary concentrator in a spare bedroom but always have kept the window open 1-4 inches on the bottom and 1 inch at the top depending on the season. I also have a little fan on top of a high chest of drawers to hopefully push the hot air outward. The room temperature with my little biomed thing, usually runs around 90 degrees. But now with summer temperatures rapidly rising, the room is now 98 degrees. I only have one small vent for air and one for return, 2nd floor, forced air system. Room is 10 x 10.
So today, with heat up to 90 outside, I closed the bottom window and just left an inch open at the top. What I am concerned about is the build up of heat in the room when the air system is off between blows. Would it be better to keep the window open or closed? I do keep the door closed but I do have a small one inch cutout in the bottom door swipe to put my tubing through from concentrator to hall, 50 ft to get around the up/down house rooms.
So my question it, for those that have their concentrator in a room by itself, do you find the room gets outrageously hot during the summer months? I had to move my CO monitor 2 years ago because room reached 100 degrees and alarm started beeping.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.....

I would suggest keeping the window open to allow fresh air to circulate for the oxygen concentration. Without a fresh source of air/oxygen the machine might have to overwork to continue to provide the levels of oxygen required.
Also the machine should have some ratings on suitable temperature ranges for operation. For example with my Millenium 10 its operating range is from 13C -32C. It might beginto have problems if it gets outside those ranges.

Yes Skate, I have mine also in another room Sm. Guest roim and just 2 day's ago the alarm also went off, so I opened the door for it to be able to breath, but we suffocated! So I also was unsure if something was wrong with my concentrator? But hearing from you makes me feel better bc I thought something was wrong and they just brought this to me last week and took my old one finely! So I will do the same open the window a tad. Thanks Skate and Gerald.

Gail, You may get one of two alarms in that case. If the machine gets too hot it will start to shut down to cool itself off. If the air gets too stale/thin it may shut down on a too low oxygen level if it can not get enough fresh air to work with.
Not sure if you are aware but all the concentrator does is take in room air, strips out the nitrogen and what is left is 97(+/-)% oxygen. I expect the nitrogen is expelled back into the room.

Thank you Gerald, yes I was aware. I much rather have the liquid tank but unfortunately they are out of them right now, what else is new?
Im just waiting on the very slow turtle girl at the other place in Johns Town..
I went their last week to talk to her and she said their was 10 a head of me? I asked her y? Since last time talking to her I was next? She asked my name again and went to get my folder, it was in the corner by itself, I told her she needed to blow the dust off of it!
She said she would call me the very next day, but NOTHING yet. I going to take another ride there see whats up?
No Matter of fact, I'll call.
Anyway Thank you both. 😄
