I came across this link today. Some excellent information for caregivers Living With And Caring For Persons With Chronic Lung Disease tinyurl.com/33on95 To which I would like to add one more tip - encourage the caregivee (patient) to do as much as possible for themselves - it is doing things, especially things for others, that gives one a sense of accomplishment, and without some sense of accomplishment then life tends to become pointless. Please don't take this the wrong way - caregivers themselves most often give too much of themselves! Chris W

Very good article, Chris. Especially your addendum: It's amazing to me just how many people with this disease turn themselves into frightened invalids. It's so unnecessary and sad that they just give up.
