There is a story behind this one, a couple of Christmases ago my daughter Sue decided to bake this fruitloaf and give it to me as a present, she ran out of time and gave me the recipe instead. I have made it since and its very good.
SUES FRUIT LOAF
Boil For 10 mins.
3 cups of water 1 ¼ cups sugar 50g (2 ounce) of butter 1 teaspoon vanilla essence 500 gram (1 lb) mixed fruit / sultanas 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon mixed spice (ground) When nearly cold add two teaspoons baking soda. Always put this in first. Stir. Add four cups of flour. Bake 140 - 180C (300-350F) for fifty mins.
