I can see some of you have already looked for the results on the voting poll for a book. The results showed an overwhelming majority favorite of Mary Higgins Clark's "No Place Like Home". I see some going to the library and some buying so...to make sure everyone gets the time they need to get the book, I estimate a date for beginning to read around Thursday. The first few chapters are short, so maybe start a discussion a bit next week. Any problems or input, let me know.

Picked up the only copy at our local branch today due Nov 13 renew for another 3 weeks - should that cover the time frame?

I plan on spending a few weeks on a book (like a month say), if needed, because people have varying schedules. If it is going too slowly, we can speed it up. I just want it to be enjoyable and easy for everyone to stay on track. So, Genemom, if you are renewing for another 2-3 wks after the 13, that is definitely fine. Everyone can read at their own pace, but the discussion should be more centered.

Okay, since some have the book or are getting it shortly. I would like to suggest the chapters 1-7 as beginning the discussion. It is 48 pages. Is this too much, is this too little? Let me know. This is your club so give me some input about what you think.

Started reading last night Aero. When do we "gather" after the first 7 chapters?

Looks like most hav ethe book. Still a few will be getting theirs in a couple of days.
I was thinking maybe Wednesday of next week would be the first gathered discussion. Is that too soon for anyone? I was also thinking of starting a new thread for the discussion itself.

Whew! I thought I was going to have to read and do a report overnight, like in H.S. I'll be ready for sure next week. New thread sounds good, at least for each book. Maybe part way through start another thread? I can see them adding up with a few books and each "assignment."

I picked up the book y'day, have for 3 weeks and can renew. Read the first 10 chapters, and made 'crib' notes so am ready to 'go' on Wed. I think a new thread will be a good idea. Have never done this before so am looking forward to this. Great story by the way...
