thought I'd just start a new thread instead of adding to the other...well it's been two months and I gotta tell you, in my wildest dreams I never imagined I would be here.....the breathing is easier and generally speaking I feel better....here is what I found on my last visit to surgeon........ Yesterday I went back down to University of Colorado with Char and Jen this time....It was so great to have Jen here and be able to go, I wanted her to meet my surgeon....the ride down was beautiful and today they say snow so the timing was great.... Had my x-ray before meeting with the doc and then delivered some cookies and stuff to the nurses on the ninth floor, the ones that took such good care of me.... Then met with my surgeon. the pnumothorix (forgot how to spell that and don't want to look it up right now you all know, the air pocket ) is still there but smaller, he said it could take up to 6 months to go away......other than that, he said I was too well to see him anymore. So I have been officially dismissed from the surgeon.....he said to keep going to National Jewish, perhaps see them every six months and of course my regular pulmo here... He also said any time now I could take my tube out and use a cannula when I need it because I'm doing so well without the 02....gonna wait and talk to my reg pulmo about this first....I'm kinda a chicken with this one cause my TTO has become a security blanket for me

Merry Christmas, Wendy!! Congratulations on your freedom from the surgeon. You're going to be like the rest of us, only better.
Glad you got lucky on the weather, BTW. Looks to be big storms brewing.

well ww, you have asked for an update and guess I am way behind with that.....things have not been as good..... towards the end of Dec I developed an infection and had to start antis.....to get to the chase, I have been on three different anti's since then and the infection went away but my breathing became not so good and coughing up lots of plugs, bloody plugs and they are hard to cough up.....those that have had them know what I'm talking about....... not sure if the plugs are the cause of the sob (and needing 02 24/7) or if they are a symptom.......will have a bronchoscope tomorrow to find out if they can "see" something in there causing all of this......................... other than that, I'm fine hugs to all

Zoom..... TY so very much for the update. I know this was probably a difficult post to make and things may not be going the way that they should right now. But; from what you've told me it does sounds very much like "plugs" hindering your breathing.... and; none of us likes to have bronchos done; but, if that's what it takes to flush them out and for you to get back on top of your game....... I/we; will be in the waiting room for you..... unless your hospital/clinic allows us all to crowd into the prep and post area! You're in our hearts and mind. I'll say a prayer or two.....

Wendy Thanks for the update. And as Jackie said, it must have taken alot to write about the hard time you have been having. I don't know about plugs, but I hope all this gets taken care of tomorrow and they get to the root of it. Good luck and stay tough.

I hope things went well for you, Wendy, and they found out what is going on. And I hope it's something simple. You've been through so much and you had high hopes, as did all of us for you.
Hugs, Sue
