Good afternoon!

So, I just wanted to update everyone on my mom's status (Jackie - aka Blossom).

They have weaned her significantly down on the meds. They were going to try to remove the vent a little while ago. But her blood gases came back with her CO2 a bit too high to attempt at this time. They are going to try again this afternoon. It's a balancing act with trying to get her off ASAP to reduce her reliance vs. going too fast and causing more problems.

We will keep you posted later tonight and let you know how it's going. Keep your fingers crossed that the CO2 numbers go down.

Hey Guys and Gals,
Just home for a bit, Thank youi so much for all the kind words, thoughts and Prayers. Ms Jackie is coming along just fine, They were hoping to remove the ventilation tubes this morning but on checking her ABG they found she was retaining CO2. As she is not normally a retainer they felt the sedatives were causing a problem to relaxed to breathe properly. They have stopped all sedatives, reduced they ventilator to bare minimum, to overcome breathing through a straw, and all stats have remained constant the rest fo the day. Good rest tonight and excubated tomorrow morning. How you you spell relieve e-x-c-u-b-a-t-e-d

Good news about Jackie. Although I don't know lots of people, I think Dave and Stacey should do some resting too. Everyone gets tired of looking after others and worrying and just waiting. So please, guys, rest up and take care and keep your strength up by eating and drinking lots of water.
