If thinking about getting an iMac desktop platform (like me), just wanted to advise the iMac models obtained minor upgrades a few days ago.
- The 21.5" model got Intel i3 & i5 CPU upgrades and a video upgrade.
- The 27" model got Intel i3 & i5 CPU upgrades and a video upgrade as well.
Now, the iMac platforms will perform even faster and have more video power. In either size, still no direct HDMI, direct Blu-Ray and no USB 3.0 ports. Guess they wanted a few items for future H/W upgrades - which tend to happen every 6-8 months. But they did release a cool looking external track pad.
Hope this helps others...

Just wanted to share some "good news". After much research and putting our kid's personal interests in mind, we recently bought a newly updated iMac 21.5" computer system. Mid-Range i3 CPU model with a better video card. This system will be used for guitar playing/recording and for my singing/movie creation needs. To view our before and after pictures, surf contents of: i178.photobucket.com/albums/w251/Spike99-Pictures/New%20iMac%20system/After-1.jpgNote: To enlarge the little picture, simply click on its little thumbnail picture. Its size will auto-enlarge. As seen, the iMac all-in-one system is cleaner and less wires. And, it created a much cleaner desk area as well. LOL!!! Overall, the iMac system is a great "graphical based" and "multi-media" rich tool. And its super quick as well. If thinking about getting a future iMac system, I'd recommend it. Its impressed me several times today (and we only installed it after 8:00 PM). Hope this helps others... .
