on surgery/lobectomy "IF" it's still a viable option. I told my kids tonight and hubby yesterday. It took a LOT to get to this point I assure you ....perhaps I'll be up to talking about things a bit more tomorrow....... please send me warm fuzzies tonight when you hit the hay and may we all wake up with the sun tomorrow... I stand behind you 100% for only you know what is best for you. And since this is your decision then it is a good one. You get my warm fuzzys every night but I will add a few to night. I am here should you need me. But you already know that. Be strong in your decision.

Jackie; Only you could make the decision. It must be the right one and now don't look back. You are a strong, caring person and just stay the way you are and you will get thru this fine. You well know there are many people praying for you. Please see that someone keeps us posted when necessary. I don't know what else to say right now but wish you all the easiest going that can come your way. I will be thinking of you and praying for you everyday. Thanks for all you do for me and others.  |

O.K. guys....(yesterday was a real bummer day for me) but today's a new day and God knows I thank you for all your kind thoughts, words and prayers and I know you'll be right there with me all the way. That helps believe me! To the folks who ventured over from the "other side of the pond as John UK put it"  ; thank you for paddling over and posting and extending your love and support as well! This will proabably be a lengthy journey for me and it doesn't all happen right away. I've another CT scan on Tuesday, the 25th (it was originally booked by my pulmo Dr in the event that I chose AGAINST surgery.) I didn't decide one way or the other till the other day so I'm still doing the scan then I have a review of it with the surgeon a week later on the 2nd with a host of questions I'd already submitted to him and the Pulmo. IF surgery is still the recommended option.....so be it. I suspect though that I may also need radiation. But; we'll see. I'm trying to get e'thing lined up (I'm gonna be treating it like a long trip/journey) so I want things organized beforehand. In that regrad I'll be enlarging the moderator pool or simply adding to their authority and coverage etc.etc. (I've not asked them yet and hopefully they won't mind) PLUS; COPD Canada (and the website) is going through some great changes which I hope to announce soon); I've been busy overhauling. When it's finished and when the time comes I'll upload the changes and make an annoucement. Your support and your love means a great deal to me. I've limited family nearby (one brother, my kids and grandkids live in Georgia). I've 2 sisters and a brother here. Only my brother (here) seems to grasp the gravity of what even having COPD means or what it does to a person, let alone cancer (after all I don't look sick ....yeahp; most of us have heard that one!) So; you are a BIG part of my life; you're my extended family and I'm thankful for that. (I think many of us are in a similar situation in that regard (familywise).) Becasue of this disease; we can automatically relate. And yes......I'll ensure that when the time comes DH or someone will post here and keep e'one updated. If the truth be known....the whole thing scares the Hell out of me. But; what can you do? I finally recognized that I was letting my fears get in the way, or affecting, my judgement. Survival is human nature....we're all , already doing that aren't we? So; for now I'm kinda busy getting things "organized" though I'll be posting everyday; I just don't know "how much". Plus I've started to strengthen myself a bit more (upper body and abdominal ) I'm in pretty decent shape but it could be a lot better. I Love you all.... and believe me that's not a word I simply "toss around" because it seems the right thing to say..... I mean it straight from the bottom of my heart.  |

Jackie, you are one strong, tough and brave lady and you can beat that d**ned disease.
Being frightened is normal, but you must feel some relief now that you have made the decision to proceed with the surgery.

God is with you all the way Jackie! He knows where you have been what you are going through, He is going to take your hand and walk beside you and when you need it He will pick you up and carry you. God will guide the doctors hands and minds.
You are one of the strongest, most loving, caring individuals I have ever seen. Not like I know you in person, but I read all the time. I have been not feeling well so have really posted anything anywhere, but I have some people around that I just admire and you are at the top of the list with all that you do and you are. God richly bless you and guide you through this gently. This comes with much love and admiration from the bottom of my heart!

We would all enjoy reading any thoughts you want to share with us on this journey you are undertaking to make yourself healthier and breathe easier and live a fuller and longer life.
