::)Hi, my name is izze and I have just been diagnosed with a combination of asthma & COPD and was told on Feb 11, 2009 that I would have to be on constant oxygen therapy for the rest of my life.......
Needless to say, it has just been a bit too much drama for me to handle over the last couple weeks. I am glad that I found this website to chat with all you kinds folks and look forward to reading about all the adversities of COPD and how God helps us all find a way to cope with it in our lives.
All the best izzie

Hi izzie, I gotta tell you that most of us here felt just like you do now when we were first diagnosed....you aren't alone and the frustration and fear will settle down.......please ask all the question you would like or need or just want to talk about....

Hi Izzie It's a lot to take in all at once, but you have found a really good place to learn and chat and just be you. Take your time and you will find a way to adapt to this challenge. Take Care Mary

Hi Izzie Since last June I too have COPD and 24/7 oxygen set at 2.5 lpm. I am still learning to cope with this afflication. I've only been here since last week so I too am just getting my feet wet. One thing I want to learn about is exercise. I haven't done any since last June and I wasn't very active then either. I want to get my muscle tone back............ anyways just rambling now .................so welcome and enjoy Al

Golens; There's a couple of threads here that you may find helpful. I'll try and find them later for you.
Meanwhile; one of the biggest, if not THE biggest and best thing (and cheapest) you can do is to walk! As for toning your muscles, light weights are good; if you don't have them use cans, also wall pushes etc are good.
Why not start a thread in the General Section? You'll get lots of feedback to help.
