The external factory 65W power brick ( t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSQr10mMfxRXgzXUhuAroIORcZiaDVa2cozHUmSIjKQqTnL9UlN ) on my laptop blew last night. This morning, my local computer store Tech did some testing and confirmed a few findings. In the end, he replaced the factory 65W power brick with universal 78W power brick. Based on historical "patterns" of my specific laptop make/model, the 18.5V-65W Power Brick is too small. For long term reliability, it really needs a 18.5V @ 75+ watt replacement. If your laptop's external power brick blows, ask your computer store if a larger size "replacement" should be used instead. A good Computer Tech will research your question and if needed, recommended the next larger size. For example... If the 4 cylinder engine in the car blew, then perhaps a 6 cylinder engine should be used instead? Same "use next size up?" question might apply to your specific make/model laptop's power brick replacement as well. Hope this helps others.... .
