Posted June 28th, 2012. Please Note Image Shack is currently not working for uploads here ************************************************ You can try this as many times as you want. Maybe in the Practise area?
Uploading/Adding a Picture From Your Computer (You might want to print this off for reference)
Remember we do have a test area if you want to practise and delete it afterwards. Or we will; we clean it out frequently.
And; Don't be afraid to try! It took me a long time before I was willing to give it a go so I understand. Remember; the Admins are here to help you!
There's several programs you can use but for now we'll stick with what I think is the easist. Also; this assumes you know how to locate and retrieve a picture stored on your computer and know how to copy and paste.
- Open a message thread or start a new one. ("Quick reply" does not work for adding pictures btw)
So... in post message mode/area/screen.... You'll see a little square frog above the smilie faces-
Click on the Frog and a screen will pop upsaying "Add Image" Click on it.
Another box will open and say Image Shack Uploader
Click on Browse. A file will open on your computer.
Locate the picture you want to upload and click open (on your computer file)
Then, on the Image Shack Uploader, click "Host It"
In the message part of your post, You will not see the picture, only the code.
And you won't see the picture until you either "Preview" your message or "post" your Message.
Voila!
Again; don't worry if you don't get it the first time. Try again.... Good Luck!

Thank you so much for that Jackie. Would you believe that I never knew how to do it that way. I use PB. I go get what I put in there. Doing it this way that you showed, it still just connects to Image Shack and not a person's computer, right? When I first learned I guess I just learned one way and that was it. If you don't join the Image Shack, does that picture stay there or what? I hope you understood the question? Your directions are simpler than my questions ever are. Thanks a lot.

Sorry for the delay Mary.... far as I know the image doesn't stay there.
I find it's just the easier way rather than PhotoBucket. The caveat though is that you don't get "animated" gifs (unless you sign up)
Goof kindly did a visual step by step to add (captured the screen etc) that I've been trying to reduce and upload to actually "show" the steps (what it looks like) But; I've been a bit busy and will be for a few more days. Soon I hope.

Thank you both for the explanations. I tried Peter's set of instructions earlier this month when he was kind enough to share, which let me post some pictures for Funny Friday.
