John's cold came back with a vengeance today. He must of over did it yesterday and he's in bed. He is very fatigued today. He had to take 1 lorazapan for his panic attack because of the quick breathing and it calms him down. I'm taking good care of him and he is being a good patient for the most part. He can be stubborn at times. We are expecting a bad case of that white stuff close to 12 inches. I will have to learn how to use Big Red. Not. I will shovel before I let him do anything tomorrow. I think my work has closed for tomorrow so John has no reason to get up early to do the driveway or sidewalk. th_plowingsnow He has a fever and trouble breathing and we are trying to prevent a hospital visit. Some prayers would be nice etc. Thank you all.

Oh Susie;
Thank you for letting us know! And I hope that by this morning things have turned a more positive corner and that he woke feeling better. He's in good hands with you of that I'm sure!
I can fully attest, as can many, that anxiety/panic can have an immediate and profound impact on one's breathing so he was smart to take the Ativan!
Hugs for his nurse (you) th_icon_hug
And th_icon_hug and prayers for the patient!

Susie,
I know John has the best nurse possible for him and he will be watched closely and receive the best of care.
Tell him to recover soon, as we need him to help keep the forum going. Especially now that the Board could not seem to find the time or the interest for the non-profit corporation.
Take care John, Big Red deserves a rest as well as he has been very busy this winter.
You listen to Susie and do as you are told and you will be feeling better very soon.

John and Sue .......Hope you are feeling better today. My healing thoughts are with you John...Take Care. Sue you are in my thoughts as well. I sometimes think it is more difficult to be the caregiver with the worries that go with it than the patient. Big Hugs for a quick recovery.

Dear Sue - Thanks for the update. John - please know that my prayers and healing wishes are going out to you. You are so important to us. Sue and John - please try not to worry about the weather. I'm in central Connecticut and have just received over 10 inches of snow and now the sleet is coming! I have resigned myself to the fact that my mobility will be severely restricted for a few days - but my health and stress level is more important. Thanks, Sue, for being such a blessing to John...and all of us.

Susie, thank you for letting us know how he is doing, I do think he has been down playing it to us. I am sending up prayers for your full recovery and for no need for a hospital visit. Take Care and Breathe Well

Update:Thank you all for the prayers and healing wishes and support. They are so appreciated. John said to say and that he slept awful up every hour, fever, sweats. He is so fatigued today. We called the doctor and not sure what year they will call us back.!!! We received 8 to 10 inches of that white stuff and John hired a friend of his a young buck to run BIG RED!!! I am so proud of John asking for help. That's a big step and a big deal for him. He's getting alot of the mucus up but his breathing is rapid and the cough is hurting him. He's surrendered and is asking for my halp and still a great patient. Yes the chicken soup is going down. Gotta get some more. Thank you for the support and encouragement for me also. It's nice to touch base with you all. I just called the Drug store and they told me that the Dr. had called the medicine in for him so I am off to go get it for my love and stock up on orange juice and chicken soup Touch base later on. Hope all of you are doing well and staying warm. Sue th_icon_hug th_ShowLetterpb6

Another up date, Hi all, Well just checking in. Dr. gave John 5 Day burst - 6 pills a day, 10mg each. He took them tonight around 4:00 and went to bed. I read all your comments to him. He was touched and cheered him up. th_icon_hug He is improving at a steady pace and hopes to be on tomorrow sometime. I will be at work so the cat will play and by the way Mary 57 John just asked me if it would be ok for Rosie to come to visit for a day or two. Just send her over and take her home when you want. If you would rather I could come get her and return her in a day or two. Well you all take care and do me a favor, watch over him tomorrow and if he falls asleep at the computer please send him to bed and he is not to have much play time on the computer and he has to make himself some lunch. Hope we both have a good night sleep as well as you all. Nice chatting with you all and keep the candles and balloons etc for him to boost his spirits for me. He really appreciates you all with love and friendship, You all are a big part of his life , Susie th_icon_hug

kaffeetrinker_2[1] OMG!!!! Where have I been? John, last I knew you had a little cold and now I read it's gotten really bad! I haven't been reading all the posts as I haven't been feeling all that well myself so I'm in shock!!!
Susie, you are doing a super job caring for John. I guess it was a blessing that you had the snow day and got the day off to care for him during the worst of it. Now you just have to make sure you don't catch the cold from him, image002 . I don't know what it is about caregivers, but for some reason we seem to think we are invincible and cant' catch what our dear ones have. In other words, make sure you are washing your hands a lot and taking good care of your self, too. We need both of you in our lives!
It sounds like you are getting plenty of your chicken soup that you always prescribe for everyone, John, and it would be a good idea for Susie to get some into herself as a pre-medicine, if that makes any sense.
Take good care of him Susie, we need him , and we need you, too, so take good care of yourself, too.
Love and prayers, Sue

John, Rosie is ready to head your way, you or Suzie will have to get her though. She will be good at keeping you in bed and off the computer she tries to lay on the keyboard. She likes to lay close to your upper back, keeps the chill of. Keep her as long as she is helpful to you. Hoping the meds and continues bed rest will see you up and about by Sunday for breakfast at Dennys. Suzie, you need to take care of yourself, and try not to stress too much about John. It has to be so stressful to watch him struggle but it sounds like he is learning to relax and ask and let others help him out when it is needed. That is such a huge thing, I'm proud of him. Have lit a candle here for his full recovery.
