I get really SOB and way more emotional now as I have a hard time dealing with anything I have to express a strong opinion on verbally but not the closed throat feeling.

I get like stoker very short of breath if I argue with anyone. My throat don't close. That sounds kinda like an asthma attack.

this IS COMMON WITH COPD , MOST LIKELY BODY CHANGES WHEN YELLING, LAUGHING, EVEN TALKING LOUDLY. NOT REALLY SURE WHAT'S GOING ON .
I DO KNOW I HAVE THAT FEELING A FEW TIMES A DAY REGARDLESS AND I USE PROVENTIAL WHICH WORKS VERY WELL. DO YOUR SAT LEVELS FALL WHEN THIS HAPPENS ?

I have to wonder if it is because our airways have narrowed due to chronic inflammation, from the tiniest all the way up to our throat. So any additional stress may increase the inflammation and cause further narrowing, even temporarily makes us feel as if throat is closing down. About 50% of the time, I find Advil relieves the transit swelling.

Pippy; I did read a technical paper on this some time ago. (Not unusual) I'll try to "refind" it soon

I'm sitting here now and it feels like something tight is wrapped around my neck...right under my jaw. It happens a lot but not necessarily when I'm emotional.

I don't think this is what you're looking for Pippy..;. sorry but maybe it'll add a bit www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/03/090326084750.htmThe thing is allergies/asthma can also play a big roll BUT...... if you think about it..... Anytime anyone gets emotional, especially if they try NOT to YELL or cry, they get a big lump in their throat. I know I do and I think that's normal for mopst people anyways. Heck; these days I don't dare have a good cry casue I'll also get all plugged up plus SOB and it all effects my breathing. But a bad scare or sudden upset will do the same thing to me as well. (Pretty bad though when you can't "cry" properly .) Anyway; if I do come across that piece; I'll post it but I think it had more to do with swallowing problems and COPD.
