Some have already figured out that ibuprofen can help but this adds some more to it.

Hi all .. regarding what Al said about ibuprofen. I've been having trouble with my left shoulder. (Not my heart) Off and on it pains / aches like a throbbing tooth ache. While away at a wedding, I was banging back 2 or 3 Ibuprofen 2x a day. The morning of the wedding I cut myself shaving (just under my lower lip) and couldn't get it to stop bleeding / clot. I didn't have a styptic pencil with me, so had to stop at drug store and buy one. I was already taking 1-81mg aspirin per-day. I've been careful with ibuprofen ever since the bleeding session.

I can't take ibuprofen I had an allergic reaction years ago to a prescription strength back med that contained ibuprofen and haven't been able to take since so I guess I'm out of luck on this one.

I can remember reading this somewhere. I don't take it, when my arthritis plays up I take Mobilis, which I think helps my breathing. I'll try keep a check on it in future.

This is terrific if it actually helps to restore lung tissue. I took it some years ago, but found it actually thickened the mucous and made it harder to cough out, but this seems to be somewhat of a contradiction if it also thins the blood. I would normally think that if it thins the blood, it should also thin mucous production. Has anyone else had this experience with ibuprofen?
It's a beautiful sunny day here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada today.

It is another drug we can love and hate. Have used it on/off for years for bone/muscle pain. The 'Motrin' dosage 800 mg used to be only by Rx. Heck, that's just 4-200mg tabs. At that level, I got great pain relief, muscle relaxation and helped me take a nap Even my orthopod doc said a lot of his patients report the same thing. Didn't need to write so many muscle relaxant drug prescriptions. But it can cause bleeding, stomach and GI problems. My Rheumy got a stomach bleeder that they had to scope him to stop the pumper. I get gastritis after using ibuprofen on/off for more than 2 weeks, then have to stop for at least a week. I do have a small hiatal hernia and GERD and take a PPI. I tried 4 different generics and finally went back to Advil brand with minimal side effects. The others gave me severe gastritis after 2-5 days. Do I breathe easier??? I would say yes. I think due to the overall muscle relaxation effect. Everyone is different and side effects can change over the many years....they can stop and not happen again when ibuprofen is taken again. I still think some of the SE are also due to the various fillers, etc. that different generic manufacturers use. The best example of that is when pharmacies were changing Coumadin to generics without telling the patient. Doctors went nuts over that one!!!

Glad it helped you John! Sometimes I take it just for a bad breathing day and if that doesn't help then I take my 1/2 of Vicodin (Norco.)

That is interesting John. I take a half of a 50 MG Tramadol 4 times a day to help with my Dyspnea which in turn controls my panic attack.
