This morning Spike posted this message on another thread: "In approx 30 minutes, my wife & I have to see our son's back specialist. In another 1.5 hours, this specialist is going to explain how he's going to perform the back surgery on our 13 year old disabled son. We need to install 2 rods down his back - to stop his Scoliosis. Surf: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scoliosis Last week, our GP told us the Spine Specialist will probably split our son down the front, remove all internal organs, install the steel rods down the "inside" of our son's back, put the internal organs back in, then stitch / staple up the front. So far, we've been told installing steel rods on the "inward side" is the best way to fix his double warped spine. But, this 6-8 hour operation does have its risk. Risks that we're not too sure should be taken with a disabled child - who has other health risks as well. Thus, why I'm being really quiet today. Just doing lots of deep thinking... " Spike - My prayers and thoughts are with you, your wife and your son at this time. You and your wife know (Far too often), the feeling as a parent, who has to watch their child suffer, knowing that they don't have the power to help. The only power we have right now is our faith. Your friend, Phil
