Caregiver Handbook « Thread Started on Sept 2, 2010, 12:42pm » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been doing some reading online, for the first time in quite a few years....at least concerning caregiving and COPD. I was really surprised how many different sites there were addressing caregivers. But, unfortunately, none were Canadian... I am including a link for a handbook I found that shouldn't matter where it comes from, it addresses the caregiver. It might be a good idea to print it out to use for reference.....there are a lot of good things in it. You can find it at www.medicaring.org/educate/download/copdbookfinal.pdf This just gives me a bigger dream for our site.....a way to reach out to others in our situation. How is it that the U.S. has moved forward so fast and we're lagging behind? Both countries started their campaigns at the same time...to let their countries know what COPD is.....and this I know because my husband was an ambassador for a group out of Toronto. But, it was handed off to the Lung Association and I've not heard another word about it since. What a daggone shame! If it wasn't for the good folks that have worked so hard on the main COPD site, it still wouldn't be very front and centre. This is why we need to try and make a difference. I will be keeping an eye on any news items to do with caregivers and will report what I find here...as well as other things. And, if you run across any items or tidbits, please feel free to share them here. Hugs, Mary
