Welcome Vancouvergirl! It's nice to have you here.
Pleae feel free to jump in on any subject, anywhere, anytime. Some folks pop in daily "Over the Back Fence" to let us know how their day's going, others post ocassionally on a topic of interest to them or ask a question, seeking input, and others are simply readers. Whatever you're comfortable with is just fine with us.
I assure you however that you WILL be made to feel at home.
Once again, Welcome! Jackie aka Blossom

Thank you all for your warm greetings. I'm 60 yrs old and was just diagnosed with moderate,stage2 COPD. I really thought I just had a smokers cough and a touch of winter bronchitis, but the doctor did a CT scan and found otherwise. Four days after my diagnosis I became totally breathless and ended up in the ER on oxygen, The doctors there said COPD doesn't work that fast and that it was stress. It was the worst feeling I've ever had in my life and I don't look forward to the years ahead, if I have that long.
I'm now on Fluticasone and Spiriva and things seem to be getting better. Mornings can be bad though. I'm struggling to quite smoking, what a stressful time to go through this, but I'm down from 25 and day to about 1 a day. My DH smokes so that doesn't help.
Anyhow I am so happy to have found this site and have lots of questions for you (oldtimers)..smiley goes here! Looks like a lot of you have been around for a while and I hope to learn a lot from all of you. Once again thanks for the warm greetings Vancouvergirl

Hi Vancouvergirl, sounds to me like you have a pretty good attitude about it. It can be rough, but when it is we come here to get some morale boosting. Quitting smoking is the one of the hardest things you will do in your lifetime, but YOU can do it, we will help all we can, when you want a cigarette come in here and vent. Most important thing is to keep your sense of humor (see Thank God It Is Funny Friday.)
Welcome and jump in anytime, hope to see you Phil's Gym for some exercise, that will help tremendously....
