My brother was finally admitted into Intensive Care last night after a long day in the ER. I am not sure that I am getting the full amount of information from my niece to understand exactly what is wrong with him. I'm hoping to get more from my sister later on today. From what I got from my niece, his kidneys are failing, he might have pancreatitis, he's dehydrated, and who knows what else. Oh, and he has pneumonia, too. Apparently he'd gone to the dr the day before and was prescribed antis but never filled the prescription. He may not have had any money knowing him. I'll ask that you keep him in your prayers, please. I wish I could go down to see him, but guess it's not the healthiest place for me to be anyway.

So sorry about your brother Sue. He's had problems in the past with painkillers, right? Does he have COPD as well? I'm hoping they can get his problems under control. I'm sending a healing white light for him.

Tracy just called. My brother has pneumonia, kidney infections and failure, pancreatitis, and dehydration. He is on multiple antibiotics and fluids. Dr. says this can turn around with his kidneys. Sure hope so. It's really scary about the pancreatitis, too, since that's how my mom's pancreatic cancer started out. She was treated for pancreatitis for 18 mos. before it turned in to cancer. I hope this isn't his path.
Thank you for your support and prayers.
Sandy, he hasn't been tested for COPD but I believe he has it. He has O2 in the home now so must be dr thinks he has it, too. John was born with a hole in his heart but he's been ok with it. He had a cathaterization as an adult and they said the hole had closed.

Sue,
So sorry to hear about your brother!! Hope all goes well for him for a speedy recovery....he is in my thoughts and prayers. And big hugs to you!!
And just to let you know, my doctor has told me to stay away from the hospital unless I need it myself. Southern Ontario right now is full of flu and I know you aren't too far away.

Thanks, Jane, Yes, I decided that unless I need to be admitted myself the hospital is the last place I want to be. I did see on tv where the area I live in is over run with the flu. I'd be curious as to how many of these people had gotten the flu shot. My sister got the shot and then got the flu anyways. She was quite sick. They tell us the shot won't always prevent the flu but will lessen the severity if you do get it. Would hate to have seen her if she hadn't had got the shot! She is finally feeling much better now, but went to the hospital this afternoon to see my brother. he was asleep so she didn't stay. I told her that she should probably be better off staying home and just calling him on the phone. I actually tried to do that a while ago but nobody answered the phone. I figured he must have been walking or something. I don't know what the routine is where he's at.
Peace to all!

Well, I don't understand it but the fact of the matter is: John is home. Just last night he was hallucinating and calling my sister and telling her to come and get him because dangerous things were going on in the hospital. And when I talked with him this afternoon he was loopy. Personally, I just don't think they want to deal with him as he is quite belligerent. I hope he is ok. I'll call him tomorrow and see how he's doing. Thank you for your prayers and perhaps we should continue with them as I am still quite concerned.

Did he sign himself out? That's too bad. Is he going to be alone now? I'm worried about him too. Hope things get better for all concerned.
