Like I mentioned in chat a short while ago; I got to finally speak today with our "in house" coffee brewer!" And; all things considered (and especially to my little ears) he sounded sooo good. As you know it's been a long few weeks for him. He was admitted on the 8th of Feb and diagnosed with pneumonnia. Things were/have been challenging to say the least! Anyway; he's on the rebound, they've had him up; using the walker, he's no longer on oxygen and is expecting to get out by the weekend! How's that for He did get the card I sent from all of us and he thanked us all immensely. He appreciated it believe me and he passes on his love to e'one. Now, and I have Deborah to thank for the following in a way becasue of something she'd asked and it tweaked my checking again. I've had the hospital's phone number from previous times so I've not been on their web site for a bit. And; in the past, they've not had any e card service. But today I actually checked again and though they still don't, they do have an e mail service now. So.... without further adieu..... Thanks Deborah and.... I KNOW he would love to get an e mail from you guys. So; what do you say It helps to know you're loved and being thought of; it really does and I know some of you who've been there can certainly attest to it. His name is Peter Richarson. He's in the Kelowna General Hospital, Room 424 Here's the link to send an e mail message which will be delivered by the volunteers.... www.interiorhealth.ca/YourStay/FamilyFriends/Pages/eWishesForm.aspx

Sent him the card. Glad he'll still be there to get it. My brother seems to get released before my cards can get delivered. Butt the last time the hospital sent it on to his house! They actually spent the $ for a stamp and envelope.
I just know Peter's going to love this. Please, if you only knew how much those cards mean to us while we're in the hospital. They put a smile on the face of the deliverer and the receiver.

Jackie: Thank you so very much for following up. I had heard that some hospitals do this regularly and I know when my grandfather was in the hospital a number of years ago the nurses would read him emails that I sent. Glad to see it has been formalized - it isn't as good as e-cards but it can be much more personal.
Sent a note to him already. You are so good to keep in touch with him and let us know of his progress.
Deborah
