Just received an e-mail from my Sister. Her husband had a biopsy on prostate 2 weeks ago. Not good news. They took 12 biopsies and 3/4 of them are cancerous in different stages. Now for a cat and bone scan and back to see Dr. in 2 weeks. th_th7angelhello

Barb I am so sorry to hear about your Brother-in-law.
My brother had major surgery 7 years ago at stage 4 and has been on hormone therapy since then. The therapy has quite a few side effects but he is still very active at 60 although he tires easily and recently sold their large house as it grounds were too much for him to handle plus it was in a rural area. He goes every 3 months for tests and sometimes they are all right and other times he feels very down about them but he is still here after 7 years. and for that I am very thankful as I have no other brothers or sisters. Bye the way he lives just outside of Ottawa, so perhaps your bil can attend the same clinic.
I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh Barb...Heavens.... devastating news I'll bet.... your sister must be just soooo devastated; possibly more in shock right now than anything. Let alone your BIL who's the one living with it! Good Lord. I don't know if you've spoken with her on the phone yet (by the time you read this) And I'm sure your family is needing to collect their thoughts.... first the initial shock has to be dealt with I know.... But please know I'll be saying a prayer for him, for your sister, for you and your entire family tonight when I go to bed and I know that others will be too. I wish there was more I could offer.....

Thanks so much for your prayers. My Sister said she is not real worried yet as it is curable. My Dad had the same thing at about 65 and was also on hormone therapy Sue. He died at 77 of rectal cancer. All we can do is pray now. th_th7angelhello good night

That is such sad news Barb. I know it is a very trying time for all of you, but try not to look too far into the future, the worst may not happen for a very, very long time. Many people including my late brother-in-law were survivors of prostate cancer. I know it is so very hard hun, but if you can stay positive, your vibes will be felt by your sister and her hubby and help them keep their spirits up.
You are all in my thoughts. Sending healing vibes and love your way. beating-heart

kaffeetrinker_2[1] all and thanks for asking Jackie. He does have prostate cancer. He sees the oncologist tomorrow. Then we wll know what treatment they will do. Probably 30 rasdiation treatments. I only hope he will have 2 a week instead of the five a week as they are an hour and a half away from hospital. If that happens they will stay at their sons as it is closer.

Brother-in-law got his treatment plan yesterday. Taking oral medication for the 1st month then a hormone shot for the next 3 months as he has a couple of aggressive spots they want to knock down. In October he will start radiation treatment till December everyday. I just hope he will be okay....Need lots of prayers... angel th_haveagr8daybutterflylady
