The nurse came by today and she says my Mom will go soon. Maybe tonight or the next few days. She is asleep now and probably will not wake back up. Right now it looks like she will go peacefully. I sure hope so. We are to give her morphine and Ativan mixed together every 3 hours. Increase the morphine if need be every 2 hours.
I would like to say Hospice people are great. We would be in trouble if we didn't have Hospice.

My sister is here with me. I hear her in there talking to Mom. Personally I think she needs to let her rest and sleep but what ever. She can't do any harm. Mom is not all there at this point.
My daughter went to visit a friend in Panama City yesterday. It is just as well. She probably couldn't handle this.
I had my talk with Mom the other day. I heard her talking to God and she told Him she was ready to go. Sooner the better. She told Him she is ready right now. After hearing that it made me feel better and I wish her a quick and safe journey to the other side.
This is the way I feel about Death and Dying

Your mother and you are in my thoughts and prayers David. As John asked, are any family members with you?

Right now it's just me and my sister. My brother is driving in from North Carolina on Monday.
Hospice nurse has checked on her for the past 2 days. She says Mom can go at any time now. All the signs are there. Mom is resting. She doesn't move and she is in a deep sleep. Her breathing is short and shallow. She was gurgling some this afternoon but we repositioned her and she stopped. We also have pills to dissolve in her mouth that will dry the saliva up.
We give her morphine and ativan every 2 to 3 hours. She can't swallow but it dissolves in her mouth.
The nurse says she will just stop breathing. That's it. I sure hope so.
