Thank You for the welcomes. I didn't know I had COPD because I had asthma all my life. Then on Dec 19 2014 I was trying to get the house ready for my granddaughters Christmas. I knew I had a respritory infection but figured I would wait until after Christmas to go to the doctor. 6:30 that evening I went into respritory failure. I was in ICU for 3 weeks then they moved me to hospital hospice where I was suppose to die. 3 days later I woke up took my oxygen off and called the nurse to tell her I was hungry. The doc that was in charge of my care just shakes his head and smiles each time he sees me. I have had several exacerbations throughout this past year but feel goo on a whole. I t is so good to meet all of you. (Hugs)

Welcome.
That is a really ugly way to find out you have COPD!! Congratulations for coming through that with a good attitude.

Wow, Yes it's very Scary. .I just got out of the hospital too. I'm so sorry we all go through this. Im so glad you're here. When you're ready each day we meet at the fence for Davice cuppa coffee, and then we tell about what we will be doing for our day, even if its staying in bed. I was supposed to go out yesterday but ended up in bed. Oh well. Hope you get on the mend real quick. Love Gail XOXO

th_ShowLetterpb6 Welcome to your new COPD home islandgirl51 - I'm so happy everything went well for you - when you told your story I was seeing my mom in her last days but I am glad you turned it around. Come check out the Over the fence section when you are ready and feel to come out and just say - plus there are so many other sections here to learn about our disease and what can or can't help us. See you later IslandGirl!!
