This recipe was given to me by a lady who is heavily into natural remedies for the usual problems many of us face...I have terrible issues with getting the gunk up, in spite of most conventional ways.....After 2 weeks, i have noticed quite a significant thinning of the usual sticky mucous blobs,,,,Not perfect but a big improvement....
Preparation: Chop one piece of fresh ginger (thumb size) into pieces and place it in a pot over fire, with 2 cups of water. Let it boil, then remove from the fire and leave it for 15 minutes to settle. When cool pour it in a glass jar and store in the refrigerator.
Whenever you have a cold or feel that your lungs are full of mucus, add 1 teaspoon honey, 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in the previous prepared beverage and drink it.
Within 2 hours your lungs will be clean and mucus free!
BTW...If you use the Manuka Med,Grade Honey.instead of plain honey....then you got a Natural Antibiotic as well.....

the ginger, lemon, honey also helps with digestion, bloating & gas. (i use if for GERD/reflux at night) I boil up slices of ginger to make about 1/2 gallon of tea with some lemon to taste, then i freeze some to thaw out when i don't feel up to making it. I then add the honey to taste when i reheat it to drink. ---- did you know that honey is an anti-bacterial, anti-fungal & anti- viral!!! (did you ever notice that honey may harden into a sugar, but it never spoils or gets mold on it?
"Raw honey has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. It promotes body and digestive health, is a powerful antioxidant, strengthens the immune system, eliminates allergies, and is an excellent remedy for skin wounds and all types of infections. Raw honey's benefits don't stop there. Raw honey can also stabilize blood pressure, balance sugar levels, relieve pain, calm nerves, and it has been used to treat ulcers. Raw honey is also an expectorant and anti-inflammatory and has been known to effectively treat respiratory conditions such as bronchitis and asthma." www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23782759 www.naturalnews.com/035493_raw_honey_health_benefits_antibacterial.html They are also finding out that honey is helping to fight antibiotic resistant disease & can be used topically or ingested. Them bees make a pretty good medicine that tastes good too I had a friend tell me she drinks a warm glass of "apple cider vinegar" mixed with warm water (& a dash of cyenne (red) pepper to help her cough, but never tried that one, but maybe adding it to the ginger drink like you are just adds another "oomph" to helping clear up mucus.
thanks for the tip! i knew the ginger tea helped me at night, but never knew it could help the mucus too! thankyou

Ozboy thank you, your recipie seems to be working for me. Significantly thinned out my mucas plugs. Haven't added the coconut oil as yet as I haven't been to the store. But did add a tbs. of fresh lemon and used the cider vinegar brand that includes the mother. Have been using it now for 5 days, at least once a day like a hot tea after lunch. The vine ager almost scared me off but the ginger seems to cover up that sourness. ( 2tbs. of homey might help that also.)
