Hi John.....So they have made a lot of changes to this procedure?....I had read about it a while back and in 2011 the ''EASE'' trial came up with very disappointing results....I believe that the Endo Bronchial Valves (Also far from successful) and the Nitinol Coils, were the new go for emphysema but not for those like me, who had damage to every lobe..... Interested how you feel about it as there is not much publicity on this anymore, although i have not done any recent research since i got knocked back on the valves...In hindsight it was the best thing ever as the only 3 people i personally know have really gone downhill since the valve op in 2015- . If one decides to go for any of these procedures, it is better to do during a trial as post it costs a lot of money plus these valves/coils what ever are only temporary n needs to be replaced at intervals or in case of issues... Best of luck with it all mate.....cheers.

interesting. help me understand? Like Peter, I was interested when the valves & coils came out. From what i saw the coils seemed to have better results than the valves, but both had "problems". The way i understand it is the coil & valves were inserted to "close off" bad parts of lungs so just the 'good' was left to work. this looks kind of opposite to the coils & valves tho. ,,, it looks more like it is opening up a 'gate' to let the bad air out? so for people with 'air trapping' or perhaps like i who have a problem "diffusing" the air from my lungs to my blood stream---this would help open that up to pass the air out???
Am i close, or is this on the same theory as the coil & valves?
