Shelley, I use a ResMed BiPap. I hated those awful masks with the large prong pressing into my forehead that the ER uses! I too had problems with face mask and was told they don't make a pediatric size. The straps are stretchy/Velcro and one goes around the back of my head near top of neck, the other one comes down from a stretchy band over the top of my head. I can watch TV and read sitting up if I get my head positioned right and prop the book on a pillow on top of my thighs. Over time I managed to adjust the straps for a best fit. Mine is only used with acute shortness of breath and for about an hour in the afternoon, on my back slightly raised on pillows, when needed to rest my muscles. Mine is not for nighttime sleeping. I've tried sleeping on my side with it and found it pushed too much air into my stomach. If you have the straps too tight, you will get swelling. A very small leak around the mask is considered acceptable. I am a mouth breather and don't worry about it since I do not have sleep apnea.I've read others are using nose pillows from different companies. I have constant rhinitis and something in the back obstructs each down side of the nose when I am laying on that side so I have to turn every 2 hours to just breath ...I don't think a nose pillow would work. Have you checked the various BiPap manufacturers/companies and their specific web sites? Many of them have really great information, manuals, some might even have a video. I would let your mgf. know that your provider is not providing any help with their product and can they recommend another provider that carries their product with better service.

Found some info that might help you. Jim C posted on foundation that there are 3 nasal pillows. One has prongs that slip inside your nostrils (he hated this one.) He uses a Full Nose cover with a Very soft rubber with a head harness. He did not give manufacturer. He is a side sleeper due to 3 back Discs. He also uses a humidifier with his machine. He admits it does take a little getting used to but feels this nose cover is a winner
