The NIH actually posted a video of their recent long (7+ hours, but you can scroll across, stop, slide some more to listen)video. I scrolled to near the end for the final section for their sort of summary and Q&A. They felt this was a major first step. They are more aware of the problems than I gave them credit for and it sounds like they (NIH)are finally willing begin accessing the multitude of issues. Funding of course is a main issue, but also trying to get a mechanism for all the various organizations to communicate with each other, local to top of the chain and good top of the chair leadership! They have got to get the organizations to stop their turf wars..... Honestly, I don't think the average COPD patient would find the video helpful. COPD net did a fine job in outlining the 5 key components. It is small but major first step!! I plan to see the video again and listen to some of the other aspects. This post is just my initial impression.
