I don't know if it's my place to post or not, but I know many care about Peter & how he is doing. Peter's wife, Beth, posted on FB yesterday. Peter hasn't been doing well doing well, his family had come to say 'good-bye' friday 13th. Peter's wish is to pass away at home, and Beth was going to try but his GP came & looked at him next morning (10am). The "GP" didn't think Beth could handle it alone & had her transfer Peter by ambulance to "Palliative home". (i assume that is like a hospice hospital that keeps one comfortable) (Those that know Peter, know that Beth has been in 'denial' about his disease & the severity of it....I think she now realizes how bad Peter is) anyway, it sounds like he almost died on way to Palliative home, but she prayed & begged him not to leave her & he came back & "his face turns pink again and he eats a little bit of food." The Dr has told her that the only thing they can do for Peter at this time is to keep him comfortable. Peter has lived in terrible pain with this disease, so I am happy that he is where he can be kept comfortable. That is 'short version' & those that have Peter as friend on FB can read the post Beth wrote telling of it all (she wrote it using peters account). Bless Beth for keeping Peters friends informed & she sounds so scared & alone. Beth is asking for prayers for Peter (and she needs our prayer too). That is all I know at this time. to Peter & Beth.

Thanks for the update on Peter - my prayers are going for his wife and his family and may he be comfortable. If you are friends with him on facebook maybe you could pass on the message that all of his friends here at COPD in Canada & The World are thinking of him and sending positive thoughts and praying for the family.

I posted to Beth (Peter's wife) that we are also praying for her & peter. -----Beth posted an update the 18th & said that the day before (tuesday); The Palliative care said they wouldn't care for Peter longer & gave choice of nursing home or home. Peter wants to go home & Beth asked they give her enough time to get ready. Someone came to "council' Beth & would let her use hospital bed & 1 sheet for 30 days then charge $6 (or $15) a day. They would send 'caregiver' 3 times a week to help. Then Peter had "bad attack again, he was in deep sleep that the doctor keep on waking him up" so they couldn't let him leave hospital yet. ....all didn't sound right so I brought up hospice & another friend in USA sent info about hospice or palliative care in Australia....of course we are in USA so I just hope that Beth finds Hospice or some sort of help of that kind that doesn't charge her for a darn bed. (hospice here furnished all the needed equipment when i cared for loved ones) In my humble opinion; prayers are being answered as today a lady/friend that lives in that area went to hospital to see Peter, posted a picture & update. I don't know 'etiquette' of these things, but i know Peter used to just copy & past his FB updates here as too much to write different....so I am just going to copy & paste here.... ....."Today I went to see you my darling friend..Peter...or Petey Pete as I call him....it was a long drive across town ...but so worth it to visit with this strong wonderful human being. ...he's as well as can be expected considering...but so full of worry and anxiety...and very tearful....he kept asking is it alright to cry so much...and I told him perfectly ok and I wouldn't expect anything less....he is just skin and bones the poor darling...but he doesnt eat much...just jelly and icecream for lunch today which he promptly threw up..... gosh I wish I could help him....the one thing he wanted to tell everyone is that he survived....but he's so tired of it all. ..will probably stay in Paliative Care until the end of next week before being sent home for Beth to care for him...and help coming in 3 days of the week...I'm going over there during next week and will relieve Beth so she can have a break as they really have no one to support them.... Hope this eases everyone's minds for a little while....just keep praying as it's helping...... Cheers..." Obviously, Peter still isn't doing well, butt least Peter & Beth have had a 'real' person show up & offer to help as she can. I pray others that may live near by show up also or perhaps send a card & let Peter (& beth) know he is not alone. The picture of Peter was rather a relief to see, his coloring looking better than i've seen in the last few pictures this past year; there wasn't the look of pain i've seen before, so I am assuming that they are keeping him comfortable & out of pain.
