While vacuuming a few days ago and had to pause every couple of minutes, I realized how valuable it was that I had put a wide Velcro strap through the handle opening (fingers wrap around through the opening) so I could hang it on a door knob rather than let the whole thing drop to the floor in my rush to sit down. Bending to pick up the handle/wand/hose was almost as stressful. I have a canister style vacuum and the handle with the hose is quite heavy. Over time I also have taken some heavy duty duct tape and secured a similar big loop that I made from old concentrator tubing onto my brooms, dust mops, etc....all my long handle items. The loops allow me to throw it over the room's door handle quickly, go sit to catch my breath, and then just take it off the door knob and that doesn't require bending Probably others have created the same thing, but just thought I would pass it on to those finding exertion getting worse doing tasks that require long handle tools....

Skate, what a great idea Thanks. Hubby used my old tubing for a wishing well he put in the yard, works great! Another friend uses my old tubing for his plants in summer, he put holes in them and connects everything to the hoses .
