Hi everyone, This is John's wife Sue. John is in the hospital with Pneumonia. Finally went yesterday around 4:00 They admitted him as his blood gases were 84 and pneumonia  and retaining CO2. I am so tired but want to update the forum for you all.  They put him on Bipap machine. Oxygen is on 5L and receiving breathing treatments, steroids, antibiotics also.  They are giving him maglese to stimulate his appetite.  I will say he was a little stubborn and did not want to go and It was part of my fault also as i was allowing him to stay home as he had that fear of not leaving the hospital which i felt for him but he finally did go. I am happy with the treatment he is receiving and keeping our fingers crossed . I will keep you all posted and he says hi and thank you for your for prayers etc;I will keep you all posted when I can.

Thank you for the update! Please take care of yourself as well and get some rest. We COPDers are pretty stubborn about when we will and will not go to the hospital.

Hi Sue, Thank you so much for letting us know! I've been very worried!! I am praying for you and Jon Sue.
I will be at the medical arts building accross the way from the hospital . if you need anything at all please don't hestate to ask me ok? I will try to help in anyway possible Sue. I love you both and Pray to God John will be ok'!! Very hard to eat when you're sick I know that! Love you both. Love Gail xoxo

That is sad news Sue, but thank you for keeping us up to date. Please tell John that we all love him, he is in our thoughts and hearts and we pray he has a speedy recovery. Also please remember to take care of yourself as well, carers at times forget that they have a need to keep their strength up.

Last I heard from Susie, John likes his nurse and social worker. He's happy with the people they are sending him. Actually, Sorry I meant to say physical therapist. John has been going through major Anxiety and depression. This is very hard for John as he is so very sick, but Susie said he's on the mend. They are all working with him to feel better. Thank you everyone, Susie says Thank you everyone for you're prayers, Good wishes and good vibes..

Appreciate the recent update. Please remind him that he is not alone in dealing with the anxiety and depression that frequently accompanies major setbacks and fear about the future. This too will pass with time. Many others have gone through this - one hour, one day at a time and we all give him permission to lean on us at any time day or night. Some anxiety meds take several weeks to kick in for him/you to notice a difference.

Don't be shy about seeking some support for yourself -you may also benefit from a low dose med to help ease your own stress/feelings, sort of like taking the edge off everyday tasks - talk with your PCP, am sure that person will understand.

John was able to walk to his commode comet use that, and back into bed which was a very big thing for John I'm so proud of him. The nurse has been wonderful with John, they are giving him a little Ativan from what Susie told me oh, I know they did that in the hospital I hope they are still giving him a little bit to help him through his panic and anxiety attacks. Cortana has been through the wringer and back feel bad for both but knowing he is on the mend and starting to walk a little bit we talk and laugh a little bit

The hospital gave him special medicine to help him eat, and so far he said it seems to be working a little bit he is eating very little but he is eating and trying to gain weight is being a good Trooper about that.

John has been doing everything the nurses and PC have been telling him to do.

Skate I did tell John how you're feeling and the things that you said and I believe Susie read to him about it and thank you so much for all your caring thoughts and everything that you had to say to John and if he didn't see it I will certainly tell him about it. Thank you everybody for all your prayers Good Vibes thoughts Johnny Angel we all love you hurry and get better because we miss you. Xxoo love 💘 everyone.
