(I will keep this up as an announcement for a few days then I'll "unstick" it)
......I have delayed addressing this this morning because I guess in a way I too was in a bit of shellshock. But; LW2 is gone. Cheryl deleted it and there's no way it can be restored once that key is hit.
It saddens me becasue mutual histories, information & links, threads of sharing and mutual support....all of it's gone. I'm so sorry that happened. I know what the loss feels like believe me.
To Any former member of LW2 - I won't entice you to join in here (though a number of you are already members; just not overly active) but I will tell you that you WILL be made to feel welcome. I guarantee it.
We have a code of conduct at CC (the Rules of the Road) that our members do, and have, fully supported. How do I know this? No one has ever had to be reprimanded since the house rules were established. I think that says something for the people here. I think you will also find them warm and caring. We all have ONE common bond or thread for the most part ...COPD.
Additionally; many of you know me as well as a few of the other members. Some you might get along with, some you don't or won't. It's the same for the folks here. That's human nature and a reality.
But; the answer is simple enough....avoid the thread.
The doors are opened; the welcome mat is in place. Feel free to join in anywhere or anytime. Also; if you need to come together to "talk this out" re: the closing of LW2, please feel free to start a new thread in the General Section. I'm sure there are things you'd like to say or catch up on....
You do have a home here if you so choose. If you have a problem or a question feel free to PM the moderator of that forum or you can PM myself.
To The Current "Active" members of This Forum and the Moderators:
You are diplomats and ambassadors. I know that you will make any former members of LW2 feel welcomed and at home. The people of LW2 have just suffered a tremendous loss. Please help them over the hump if they decide to join in..... Do what you do best.....be caring and giving.....Actually I don't need to remind you of that for it's your nature as I have learned.
Thanks Everyone..... Be well; breathe easy Jackie

Jackie It was a huge shock to me when it happened but life must go on. I have started a new forum though there is not much furniture there yet, got a few residents but not many chairs. Toni has agreed to be my co-administrator I offer you the same invitation come and see us. I have included a Chat Room should anyone care to use it initially there is no need to register but should things get out of hand then I'll have to rethink . copd2.proboards59.com/index.cgi?

I've been watching and reading this site for awhile on a friend's computer. I watched and read the Living With forum too. I just wanted to tell everyone that I think this is a good group Especially the way you have thrown open the doors to try and help and Shame on you John for advertising here; these people are trying to help.but the mere fact that they're allowing you to post a blurb is living prrof of the kind of forum this one is.

Surely you realize we COPD'ers are alll here helping each other. Posts with links are at most all the COPD forums. I truly think perhaps you've misunderstood. We all are family with this disease, there is no one place trying to take members away from another. Thanks Jackie, for the understanding, and kind words.

Welcome one and all,
COPDer's share many of the same things. I second what Bobbi said leave your troubles at the door. And you come in and pull up a chair and we can chat about anything you wish. The only rule that should be is WE ARE ALL PEOPLE, PLEASE LETS TREAT EACH OTHER WITH RESPECT. Welcome again may you find news friends and help you need to face this disease. Happy Trails Rosemarie

FYI E'one.....
One time my DH and I were talking; (he's been amazed at how all of us (here and all forums for the most part) rally around each other. I said that perhaps it was characteristic of any "disease"? He felt otherwise.
COPDer's are special.......we're all special....'nuff said

Pleased to see the link to the new forum is here already, all these things happen while I sleep. I do plan to look in later, John sent an invite in my mail, lots of old friends I am sure. Certainly we would be pleased to see ex LWC visit here, I feel that these forums are not competition, they all have a different flavour and compliment each other.

You are right I am sorry I just wanted to get things done quickly I thought that Phil wrote them but if they are yours fair enough I do wish you had done this differently then with insight I should have done things differently. Hopefully no harm done I respect your wishes.
Best Wishs

We all make mistakes and errors in judgment at times, John. Don't be so hard on yourself.

John; I appreciate your candor and honesty. In all fairness I should have sent you a PM or something (couldn't; I wasn't a member and I was in shock with the duplication of our rules here.) And; I didn't have your e. I'm usually very good keeping my emotions in check believe me. It brought up some very, very sad, bad memories of the last bit with Phil....
I'll pop over to your board and basically say the same thing as I did here...
It's water under the bridge now......thank you......

Jackie
Thank you once again I'm sorry. Now that things are different maybe you could pop over from time to time I will do the same. We are both here for the same reason we should work as one. My kidney is playing me up again I think maybe if my temp gets much higher will end up in the Urology ward in local hosp for a couple of weeks.
