I voted for #6 as to which I think might be a good emblem for us as a group. As an individual I love the last two for personal use. I marked my vote above.

For a universal emblem, I like #2 and I like #8. I'd still like to use all of them at different times as a personal sig. Thanks Rosemarie for getting them.

No U S A either Larry. And this friend of mine is from Austrailia so he didn't favor anyone. No Canada

Is this to be a symbol only in Canada? I ask because the universale color for COPD is pearl white.

Any information I found said the color for copd was gold:
John Walsh of the Alpha one Antitrypsin Foundation introduced a “ribbon” specific for COPD just as there are ribbons for other causes. It will have a gold color, perhaps emblematic of the GOLD statement which is a synopsis of the latest COPD diagnosis and treatment recommendations by experts throughout the world.
I found various other sites that also stated the color was gold.
Could you tell me where you got your information please?

A lot of the sites do say pearl is for lung disease. I also found this quote from The National Emphysema Foundation: John Walsh of the Alpha one Antitrypsin Foundation introduced a “ribbon” specific for COPD just as there are ribbons for other causes. It will have a gold color, perhaps emblematic of the GOLD statement which is a synopsis of the latest COPD diagnosis and treatment recommendations by experts throughout the world. Then I found a site that said: Pearl = lung cancer or lung disease, multiple sclerosis, mesothelioma, emphysema Gold = childhood cancer, COPD, embryonal rhabdomysarcoma So, now I don't know. COPD is lung disease; how do you choose?

I like number 3; though 6 is nice too (with the blue world); heck they're ALL nice!
As for ribbon color....pearl; white, .....I've even seen purple. I don't see it as a big issue myself. Who decided that in the first place (the colors)?

Rose; I think you got your cap locks stuck . But with the puter problems today it's understandable. I don't know "personally" "who" these people are of which you speak BUT; my hat is off to them and I thank them.

I have often wondered how you come up with 'official' symbols and colors for causes like this.
I would guess it is a long and drawn out thing like patents and copyrights. Some of us have the purple COPD ribbons that girls in a group made a few years back.
I checked colors one year and I also read the same things like Cheryl posted. Pearl was not my favorite color but that was what it looked like it was to me. Again, not sure who made up those lists.
I don't have time to look right now but I may have saved them and thought one was a craft place and had a very long list of colors for causes.
Just wanted to share this as it is not discussed very often.
CHERYL I have wanted to tell you for the longest time that you have a good eye for graphics. I have really enjoyed many of yours. I really like the sig you are using now. Fun once you learn how, huh! Take care all.

Thank you for your kind words Mary. This graphic is the first one I've made (with lots of help). The others were made by some very talented people. I'm in the process of learning

Ellen, I am using Paint Shop Pro 9. Rosemarie very kindly put me in touch with the people over at CozyKorner (where they made the emblems). One of the ladies took me under her wing and is a wonderful teacher. They are all very talented and are always willing to help.
