When people come together with differing backgrounds, and especially for those of us with any type of disease, (or living with someone with a disease), things can sometimes get tense. Our meds, a bad day, personal matters, frustrations; they’re all “contributing” factors. Sometimes we want to strike out and we end up putting our mouth (or fingers in this case) in gear before our brains. Maybe someone said something that rubbed the wrong way, perhaps something was misinterpreted in the posting / reading, then before you know it someone is hurt.
We’re here to learn and to share. Not just about COPD, but the human side of us as well. We’re more than just this “disease.”
To help clarify what is deemed as acceptable and unacceptable, below are a few “Road Rules” to help you along.
1. Leave your baggage outside the door before entering this board. If you can’t, then stay away until you feel you can contribute in a positive fashion whether it your 1st post or 100th post.
2 Open abuse of another member WILL NOT be tolerated whatsoever.
3. PM (Private Message) abuse of another member WILL NOT be tolerated.
(Basically; if you don’t have anything nice to say, keep your lips sealed) 4. Foul language, pornography, derogatory remarks and the not so nice side of human nature, WILL NOT be tolerated.
5. Advertising and or Promotional links of any kind along with Spamming, flaming, as such, WILL NOT be tolerated.
6.If you have a problem with another member, bring it to the attention of the Administrators. Do NOT take it upon yourself to “go hunting”.
Basically; please exercise caution in your posts and think how you would feel if you were on the receiving end.
Finally; the administrators of this board/forum, reserve the right to edit a flaming post and lock it down if need be. The offender will be warned and if deemed necessary, banned from posting.
This is YOUR Board; please keep that in mind. Your “behaviour”, participation, good or bad, is reflective of not only you, but all of us.
Easy Breathing Everyone and Enjoy.
