My last update on April 11, included a low WBC count. Really nothing more to add on the negative side. Still feeling some side effects from the chemo and/or radiation. Tolerable, I guess. Good news, Today, April 15th was the last day of Radiation Treatments. Actually got a certificate and balloons to bring home. That was a welcome surprise as he thought he had one more day.
The really good news, considering the disease we are discussing, is that if all stays well he can have surgery. Still need a PFT report but I think he should be able to pass that. Sure hope so. It is set for this coming Monday. He will still have to be very careful to not get sick. Surgery would probably be about 6 weeks away yet. Did have a Brain Scan today because of some headaches last week. As far as I can determine this is about the best news he can get and so just keep praying that all goes well.
I thank you all for all the caring and praying. This has been an extremely difficult period in our life. It is not over. You all have been important in helping us thru it.

Mary--Thank you so much for the update. It's a lengthy ordeal you and Joe are through but I'm so glad Joe is receiving good treatment and they seem to be checking everything out thoroughly. My prayers are with you and Joe each day. We all love you...Joyce in SC

Very well said Joyce; and Mary; TY for keeping us abreast. Surgery is usually the best treatment for cancer but unfortunately it's not always practical. It sounds as if Joe's been going great guns; leaps and bounds. Let's keep our finger crossed shall we? Way to go Joe!!!

Mary, you and Joe are very strong and determined people. Wishing you the very best. Hopefully the PFT test will be great and he can proceed to surgery. Remember, we are all here for you and Joe.

Not to bug you dear becasue your plate is full, but please let us know when you're able. The two of you are on my mind daily.

Jackie; I got way off track last week. Didn't mean to have you wondering. Joe's PFT was changed from 4/21 to 4/23. I will let you know when we find out. We are suppose to be getting it still in time for the surgeon appointment on 4/30.
Brain Scan was okay. Can you believe that he is now starting to lose his hair. Few weeks after last chemo. It is filling his brush. ;D Maybe it won't all come out. He keeps it real short anyway and is generally somewhat thin on back on top.
Thanks for all your encouragement and help.

Not a problem Mary. Thanks for checking in. GREAT news on the brain scan! BTW;I agree with Bobbi.......hair's overrated. It's not like you guys live in a cold climate. Besides; the Telly Savalas look is ALWAYS a hit with the ladies!
