Gary Bain, the founder and president of EFFORTS, passed away late today, joining his wife Harriet who was never ever far from his thoughts since her death four years ago. He will be greatly missed by thousands of people, including his family, friends, list helpers here, and all those past and present members of EFFORTS whose lives he has bettered in one way or another for these many years.

It truly is sad news. I've only personally corresponded with Gary on two ocassions but I've known of him and his efforts for several years.
It's a tremendous loss to the COPD community.
