I feel like I have just posted way too too many posts of updates. This is a long journey. I just want to let you know that we are still here and I really miss everyone. I have posted at the first chance I felt up to it. I ended up quite sick with an infection and root canal. Really got messed up on pain meds. I took them every 4 hours as prescribed for few days and I don't like them and they don't like me but couldn't deal with the pain this time. I was taking Hydrocodone/APAP 7.5/750 every 4 to 6 hours and generally was every 4. Never in my life took that much. In the meantime Joe's surgery is still a case of going well, but he has had little problems which have slowed the recovery. I have another root canal appointment on the 16th for permanent. Joe will be seeing a dentist Monday as suspicious may be an infection in his mouth. His mouth has been so sore (not thrush-checked 3 times) that he cannot eat like he should, thereby not gotten nutrition to have the energy to really get on the road to recovery. He wears dentures but it is his mouth that is sore. I think this is the key to why so slow getting going. Joe did try a Miracle Wash but not working enough. Pulmo today suggested maybe a dentist. Joe is going to my dentist. Don talked with them today and they think probably infection. No one but Joe was thinking that. If I told all the details of the last 3 weeks it is almost outlandishly crazy. (grinning, sort of). The Pulmo Dr also said today that the air pocket is gone. That is a Plus. Our son is still here helping. That is a good and a bad thing though. He has a job and home to get back too. I had hoped he would only be here 2 to maybe 3 weeks. It will be at least 4 now. There may be various reasons that I am not back for a while but don't be too concerned. If Don does go home at the end of next week, I am sure things will be going slower for us. If I get myself up and moving here I have several matters to take care of. Several have to be done on weekdays and have just been sitting. I will try to check in better when I start feeling better. I am struggling to get thru each day. Got pain meds out of my system. Trying finish antibiotics but don't like them. 2 left. Joe says don't take them and Don says must take them and Mary cannot make up her mind. Sounded harmless. Was Clindamysin 300 mg but my body doesn't seem to like it. My 92 year old Mother is the healthiest person that lives in my house. I have sure not been reading here and so not up on anyone or anything. I did see the post about Ellen's grandson. Again, Thank you all for all the good wishes and prayers. I do see them even if I didn't get the actual thanks in the right thread. I will catch up on other posts of interest later as I can. JACKIE: I did check one 'over fence' and saw you caught a big trout. WAY TO GO! Sorry you cannot walk further yet. I thought you would be able to do more than half mile by now. I thought you already walked a mile?

Mary; so good to see you post and DON'T WORRY about frequency or whatever...... we feel better when we hear from you rather than "guess" at what might be going on.
I'm glad to hear that Joe's air pocket is gone. Wish mine was. You have to remember something right now......ALL of Joe's resources are going into healing so secondary infections etc not only have to be watched, but kept on top of. His resources have been reduced. This will change in time.
As for you and the anti's......take them till they're finished. You also need to watch it when it comes to the pain meds. They can stifle the urge to cough (though I'm not sure if you're a cougher anyway)
Bobbi was onto something and I'm sure you're checking into it...some home help. Dave was able to do for me but he was healthy. Your abilities are limited.
You asked about my walking. I'm doing good but I can't get consistant. Got up to 2 miles (did it a few times) BUT the few days after are useless when I do. I'm working it.
In time things will settle down Mary. Post when you can; we'll certainly understand when you don't.
You're still in my thoughts and prayers...... your home team here is rooting for you!

Thank you all for the encouragement and prayers. I stopped by tonight to make another post and so thought I would respond here. I did finish my antibiotics. Boy, cannot get away with anything with all these friends. I wouldn't want to not have them. I am starting to feel better but Joe is still not feeling well. I hope soon he gets to feeling better so he can begin to recover more. Thanks again.
