I couldn't post this earlier; not all the family was informed. Now they are.
You've been there for me and mine before. Now I need you again.
My sister has breast cancer...it's invavsive ductal. Surgery is slated for Tuesday. As for the Grade or stage; it's still unknown etc and until the pathology reports comes back (a couple weeks after surgery) the extent won't be known . So; it's a wait and see even after Tuesday.
At this point she WILL be following it up however with radiation.
Anyway; Dave and I will be there Tues a.m.; it's suppose to take a couple/few hours so I'll visit Paul (now in the Rehab floor of another hospital) and Judy (my former roommate and ALS lady) in another site; during the wait. DH will stay with my BIL. Heaven knows he (Dave)can relate to the wait etc.
Bottom line.......
Please, please say a prayer for her and her's (or send positive thoughts) if you're so inclined.
This BIG "C" stuff is tough to take.
Thank You, Jackie

Jackie, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. This must be so tough for you and your family after all you have been through in the last year. I am sure it will be a tremendous support for your sister and BIL to have you there. Don't forget to take care of yourselves too. You will need to be fit for the long haul. Your knowledge, gained the hard way, will be invaluable to them. Gwen & Chris

Thanks guys; and yes I will let you know how things went.
She has to go in today for some sort of injection I believe, then tomorrow she goes to one building for a wire to be put in, then she's transported over to the IWK hospital for the surgery.
I conversed via e with her daughter (my neice) y'day via email. She lives in Australia. Being so far away is difficult for her.
We'll get through this.

Jackie, I'm sorry to hear about your sister. When cancer hits this close to home, it is truly hard to deal with it. I pray for you, your sister and your whole family to get through this. Pat

Jackie, I missed this post yesterday too. You do not need this right after all you have been through. Sometimes it is even harder to see someone struggle through this horrible disease then go through it yourself. I will have you in my thoughts and in my prayers.

OMG Jackie, I'm so sorry I missed this post. Most definately I will pray for her and think of her in my silent moments. So difficult. Your family has been through so much and I'm praying that the outcome is as positive as it has been in the past. Take care.

First and foremost....
I want to TY all from the bottom of my heart; the prayers, wishes, love that you have shown quite frankly brings me to tears to be honest with you. E'thing is/was more fresh in our minds than Dave and I realized.
We're thankful but also tired (BUT; a good tired)
My sister had the surgery.... the tumor was removed....nothing showed in the adjoining lymph node so nothing more radical was done. They've "nixed" the subsequent radiation thought for now. Although they removed additional lymph nodes and sent them to pathology.... it looks like e'thing might be O.K.
I guess my whole family was in "alert/nervous" mode. Understandably so.
TY TY TY Everyone.......on behalf of me, my sister and family.
Love, Jackie (Blossom)

This is very good news. I'm so glad things went smoothly for her and no other involvement was found. Will keep praying that all nodes are squeeky clean.
My sister in law went through pretty much the same and is 6 years post and all is still clean.

Your entire family must be so very relieved that the cancer hadn't spread to the nodes. Now you can all get some much needed rest from all the stress you just went through.
